Don't think you had to do the 14/18 on the end

That would be if he got the one he wanted on the 3rd try, it didn't specify that, if just said more than 2 tries so it's just 6/20*5/19=3/38

Well first off you should have 4/18 rather than 14/18, but either way that term is irrelevant. (6/20)*(5/19)*(4/18) gives the probability of having to choose more than 3 chocolates until he finds one he likes; the question asks for the probability of more than two, which is just (6/20)*(5/19).

Sometimes they penalise answers given to just 1sf, though if everything else you had done was to a certain number of decimal places or you had written the unrounded answer earlier on then you will probably be fine.

U know it
How did u find it

Pretty decent. If you are nabeel, why were u on an FP1 forum?

I think I didn't get the show that P(x=6)=91/216 one because I excluded the cases where more than one of the dices were 6, as I thought that wouldn't count because X=The highest score on any of the three dice so i assumed if more than one of them rolled a 6 then 6 wouldn't be the 'highest' :frown:

I think the easiest way to do that one was to do P( all less than 6) = 1- (5/6)^3.

I think :/
any other further maths resitters? what do you all need for A overall in A2?

For the mean and standard deviation on Q1 it said find x. Does that mean you wouldn't have to put units (£) on the answers?
