My son has an early A* as he did
C3 and C4 at AS and got above 90

So for LSE he just needz pass

He is expecting full UMS IN FP1
and 65 marks in todays paper

But he was a bit upset as he always
got above 90 whle doing pracrice papers

Told him to chill

The paper was tough as compared to earlier years he said

Why is the variance 4 sigma squared over 5 for question 5 d?
Is it possible for S3 to come under FM?
Also, anyone want to lean a shoulder for me to cry on? I think I got 50 ums.... :'(

Take variance's, so Var(φ)=(1/25)(16σ^2+σ^2+σ^2+σ^2+σ^2)

Thanks dude, I messed that up. Idk why now, but I had it as 2 sigma^2. Method was right though, idk how many marks I'll lose for that. What do you think the A* boundary will be?
I feel like such a fool, I answered the "hard" questions and then managed to mess up the hypothesis test for the means, probably lost 6 marks on it
Grade boundaries ~ 66/75 for A* please? :frown:

I reckon 68, judging on the poll that was made on tsr

I doubt the people who post on TSR after the exam are too representative everyone who took the exam though

How does that = 68 then?

Only question 5d) was really tricky, 6 was a bit weird but manageable, the rest was standard stuff I thought. Lots of the time (and I am guilty of this as well), people think a paper is so much harder than last years (see current c2 thread), when really it's a fairly standard paper with 1 or 2 tricky bits, it's just exam pressure that makes it harder

And 68 is quite low for s3 I think (looking at recent years)

But of course, it's just speculation. Maybe we could calculate a confidence interval for the grade boundaries or something....

For christ sake... i don't know how many marks i actually lost.... i am just avoiding the fact that there is no more A* for me....

How does edexcel actually calculate the FM grades.... I took 12 modules, but what three modules are actually used for the A2 fm modules? (I take c1-4, s1-3, M1-2, Fp1-2, D1)
I guess Fp2 is a must, then 2 other modules... Is m2 and s2 possible? [providing that i mucked up s3)
