what did u write for the momentum question

I put that momentum before=momentum after so no momentum is gained or lost and for the calculation I got 5m/s

Would someone please be able to quote me the P2 unofficial mark scheme?

What was the conservation of momentum
I wrote in stars as well

Has anyone made an unofficial mark scheme? For P2 and/or P3??

P3

The pendulum
Q1) 1.25s
b) write 2 conclusions

- as the mass increases no change occurs
- as the length increases the more oscillations which occur

c) write 2 improvements
-repeat more than 3 times
use more weights to test the experiment

Centripetal force and centre of mass
Q2 )
a) D
b) friction - what causes the centripetal force?
c) write 2 factors affecting centripetal force :
- speed
- radius
d) why is an F1 car so stable?
-wide base
-short height
Q3 )
mimimum ultrasound = 20000Hz
xrays have the same wavelength which has the same diameter as an atom

- 6 marker Xrays and ultrasound applications and risks and precautions

Q4) the eye
a) A - ciliary muscles
B - retina

b)what is the function of the iris?

to control the light entering the eye

c)short sighted

d) diverging lens diagram

e) why is the power of lens important?

because it controls the thickness of the lens

f) cant remember. there was a graph
e) 0.5m
g)explain the trend from 10 to 30 then 50 to 70 years of age
decreases constantly from 10 to 30
decreases greatly from 50 to 70 then levels off.
h) why is it better for eye lens to be thinner?
so it is much cheaper to maunfacture

Q5) Motor effect
a) why is a force created between X and Y?
basically , a current is induced causing the current to move from X to Y which creates a force due to the magnets creating a magnetic field creating a force coming outwards
b) draw an arrow (X to y)
c) what is the name of this effect?
the motor effect
d) the battery is replaced by an alternating current
what happens to the movements?

- changes direction

di) why?

alternating current flows in 2 directions.

Q6) refractive index

a) r needs to be 90 degrees and stay within the glass.

can't remember

b) calculate the critical angle
1.52 = n (something around that)

c) air --> water

angle of refraction = 26.2 degrees

Q7)

a)when/why does the bus topple over?

when the centre of mass is outside the base of the bus. this is when the line of action faces towards the ground making it topple over.

b) why is it important for these test to be done?

incase if the driver does a sharp turn
incase if the weather conditions are bad

c) hydraulic

force = 84000N

Q8) how is the voltage created the secondary coil.

this is called electromagnetic induction. what happens is an alternative current is passed through the primary coil which induces an alternating magnetic field through the soft iron core. this is because it has magnetic properties which transmits this magnetic field to the other secondary coil which then induces a magnetic current cauing this voltage to be created

b) 18 turns

Personally, to get 2 marks of why the bus topples over I think you may have to say it has a resultant moment, but that's only a guess.

Also, q8 is about a transformer isn't it? I wrote what you put but I thought it was about a transformer.

I agree, I think one mark will be for stating that the line of action falls outside the base and the second will be that there will be a resultant (turning) moment

What was the conservation of momentum

When the total momentum before is equal to the total momentum after.
I have a clear detailed p2 unofficial mark scheme, need uploading to a thread?

I wrote 'Momentum cannot be created or destroyed and is the same before and after the crash' or something along those lines...
How was the ray diagram in P3 supposed to be drawn, I completed failed that

Yes pleasee
The object had to be on the same side as image projected

Can someone remind me of that momentum calculation? I've completely forgotten!

Same I knew what the image had to look like but my mind was completely blank on how to draw it so I drew a random arrow for the image and some more random arrows in all directions for the rays 😂

One Ray went straight through the middle of the lens and the other went parallel to axis, hit lens and the refracted up so it was inline with of on left side. You had to track it back so that the image was formed on the left side of the lens

I think anyway
