If it is what i think it is, i would say something along the lines:

Producers undertake photosynthesis, which produce organic compound e.g. glucose. This is a conversion between light energy-electrical energy-chemical energy. The organic compounds formed account for the producer biomass, as they are basis for more complex features,i.e. cellulose.
