My birthday soon, hate birthdays been asked what I want and decided one of the things I could do with is a good MH book to sort of dip in and out of nothing heavy or depressing haha just a bit of self help or something a little optimistic. Anyone have any suggestions?. Or just any good books really?

Just saw this.

My wife got me "The Center Cannot Hold" by Elyn Saks. It's a really optimistic book about a woman's battle with schizophrenia and how it hasn't held her back. She got a phd and a prestigious job for example. Well worth reading.

I also read Prozac Nation when I was extremely depressed and it made me realize I wasn't alone. I don't really remember much else about it (my memory sucks so bad, sorry) but I do remember it was a good read.

does anyone want to PM/text me and distract me because I'm really uptight right now over nothing? :frown:

Probably a bit late here but if you want to ever pm me then feel free. I'll try to help. Sorry to hear you're struggling. :hugs:

Interesting to hear. I just watched the movie and really disliked it.

I hope you feel better soon!

I'm just gonna read about OCPD on the internet until I'm sleepy again.
Literally the best explanation of my disorder I've found.
