is that line connecting the two what you took to be the resultant? cus its not. resultant would start from the particle

Original post by newy181818
the 6N force should be coming of the top of the 10 N force... nose to tail...

ah..... it is like i have never done m1 before well crap :frown: looking at xzanda's solutions i htink i got 45.... hoping that is at least 60 ums so i can get 320
Now I'm thinking it might have gone quite bad. Damn it.

3ii) 7 hrs [3]
3iii) 50km [2]

Im sure i) was 15 km travelled, therefore 15/4 was the time taken.

Just want to reiterate, these are my solutions. I think they're right but they may not be. Hope it went well for everyone

These sound about right to me.

1i) v=28 [2]
1ii) s=6.384 [2]
1iii) t=0.598 [3]

Collision question
2i) u=6 [4]
2ii) m=0.2 [4]

Cycling question
3i) 20km, 5hrs [3]
3ii) 7 hrs [3]
3iii) 50km [2]

110° tick
4i) 9.74N, 35.4° [6]
4ii) 10.3N [1]
4iii) 54.6° [2]

θ force
5i) 1.04 [3]
5ii) 1.06 [3]
5iii) a=0 [3]
5iv) a=0 [2]

Coalescing
6i) v=68 [4]
6ii) s=78 [4]
6iii) k=132 [1]
6iv) v=7 [5]

Prism
7i) a=0.7 (show that), T=1.68 [5]
7ii) v=1.26 [2]
7iii) -a = 0.9 [2]
7iva) T=1.2 [3]
7ivb) Fr = 1.12 [3]

Git the exat same answers......exam was awesome. Yesterday i thought i was gonna get a C
I hope you're right I got all of those apart from 5iii but I made a stupid error there so I know I was wrong on that one!

A went at 20 km/h for 1 hr, so 20 km. Be went at 4km/h for 20 km, so 5 hrs

I got k = 126 but still got v = 7

Agree with all of these apart from 4ii/iii but thats because I had about 20 seconds to do them. I also forgot to divide 6iv by 2 so I got 14. Other than that we agree completely

IIRC, the value of k didn't affect what you got in the next question as you had to differentiate to find the velocity?
Was it okay that I used the cosine rule for the resultant on the 10N and 6N?
Reply 393
how is it 9.74??

I see. For 7)iv)b) do you know what the question was?

I made a stupid error on 7iii and got a=-0.757, will I get ECF for the last 2 parts?

questions 5 im pretty sure is wrong as it can also accelerate upwards

I did that too, did you get 13.3 ish?
