So I kinda screwed up the coursework, meaning i'm going to have to get 70-71/72 to get 90%. Anyone know whether the 90% in C3 and C4 is needed for both exams? Or is taken as an average?

Also, can I redo my coursework without redoing my exams? If they go well that is.

average

anyone got a list of what each transformation means

i.e. f(ax) is a strethc in the y direction by a?????

f(ax) is a stretch in the x direction by 1/a!!!
Can someone tell me what I should look out for?

What should I focus my revision in?

I literally have done every single past paper and some thrice.

Dont suppose you can list them all can you??

so what would

bf(ax) be??

f(x-a) + b is a translation (a, b)

af(x) is a stretch parallel to y axis, SF a

f(ax) is a stretch parallel to x axis, SF 1/a

-f(x) is a reflection in x axis

f(-x) is a reflection in y axis

Link the paper.

I'm just about to do this paper so don't want to look at the mark scheme :frown: I'll reply when I get to that question if no one else has answered.

Okay thank you
because OP and the tangent are equally inclined to the x axis. The gradient of the line y=mx is m. Equally inclined means the gradients are the same but looking at the graph the line and the tangent form an "X" shape so the gradient of the tangent must be negative m (-m). hope that helps

Okay I think I get what you mean, thank you
they lines form an isosceles triangle
so the line y=mx and the tangent are equally inclined because the lines form an isosceles triangle
the x axis is the base of the triangle

Omg thank you get it now
Got 71 in June 2014 so I think I'm ready (didn't say rotational symmetry about origin of order 2)

Good luck tomorrow everyone!

That or 180 degrees?
To get an A overall, is it just 480 UMS for both as and a2 combined ?

If this paper is similar to the January 2013 I think I might be able to get that B Iv been spending countless hours trying to hit. God I can't wait to never do integration or differentiation again! I need that B in Maths though buts it's so difficult. :frown:
