The official (H) GCSE OCR Chemistry C4 to C6 thread 2015

Honestly I don't know but make sure you know about group 1 and group 7 elements, and how to draw dot and cross diagrams of ionic bonding exchanging of electrons to get a full outer shell. You need to know how to work out number of moles which is mass (g) over relative formula mass. I can't say what will be 6 marks hopefully data questions and knowing the exam board hopefully lots of ethics - Chemistry is largely maths based so make sure you know all the formulas and how to apply them. Chemistry is one of my weakest so I hope paper is friendly.

I think the C5 six marker will be on equilibrium - it always seems to be.
guys i dont feel confident enough to do good, i use to always be good at chemistry

How did everyone find it?
It was alright the mole questions werent as hard as i thought, but what did you get for iron oxide on mars? I think remember putting down Fe2O3?

I stupidly put Fe3O2.

I think I got most of the equilibrium questions wrong... That's probably 8 marks down the drain :/
6 markers were good! some nice questions and simple maths stuff but some iffy questions esp on sec D

I think I might have gotten around 60 on the paper
What do you think the grade boundaries will be?
2014
A* 62
A 52
B 41

2013
A* 54
A 45
B 36
in my opinion grade boundaries will be same because it was similar to last years and quite easy

I found there was a lot of niche stuff like saponification, I think they might be 2 or 3 marks lower than last year
Thoughts? I thought it was a nice paper. For the last page did you guys get 25 for Poland? And one before 1.4.

The question that I struggled with the most was the mass of the calcium carbonate. I got 0.25 g but I don't think that's right as there were 60g of CO2. What did you guys get, either way it was only 1 mark
Honestly I see the boundaries to be lower this year. It was not easy it was moderate.

2013 had very low grade boundaries how much harder was 2013 compared to the 2015 (current) ?

I got the right ratio, I just stupidly put them against the wrong substance
