I got an offer by Maastricht, Utrecht, Tilburg and Rotterdam.

However, I decided to go to Rotterdam, because it has a better ranking.
Simple....

No, Erasmus doesn't, that's the problem. The university rankings vary widely. On QS world university rankings, Utrecht is 80th, Erasmus 90th.
According to times higher, however, Utrecht is 79th and Erasmus ranks 73.. as you can see, rankings say different things: if they say different things anyway, and the difference isnt that big, wouldn't you rather go to a university where you'd enjoy the experience more? (better city/international students/etc).

You can not look at the general ranking. you have to look at a ranking which specialises in economics/business.

Shanghai ranking and USNEWS ranking, have a look at them.

General rankings are useless. For example, LSE has been ranked 50 in a general ranking, but if you look at an economics ranking , it is number 3,

According to US news ranking, Rotterdam has been ranked ( i think) no 9 for economics/business in europe.
According to shanghai it has been ranked no 4 in economics in europe
Hi guys!
I got my offer to study International Bachelors Psychology, and I just realized (in the midst of exams) that I have to apply for accommodation! Does anyone have any tips? My friend told me about thestudenthotel, is it walking distance from the university?
And what factors do I need to take account? For me, priorities are walking distance from the uni, price, and en suite bathroom.

I'm also so stressed out because there are so many things I haven't considered, because I was initially going to Kingston before I got accepted to Erasmus. Does anyone know how the timetables work, or how the course is assessed, or just generally what it's like to live there?

Thank you!

Hey there! Congrats on your offer!

For accommodation I would check sshx.nl out! go under reserved accommodation and apply (the uni has to accept your registration and mark you as a student). And don't worry about everything now! I'm sure a lot of things will be cleared up during Eurekaweek

I've been told that the student hotel is pretty good. Is it recommended? Any idea when Eurekaweek is? And what can I expect?
Thank you for your reply!

I accepted an offer for the IBEB a few months ago, but I am still a bit confused as to what it means.

It says in the email I got the offer in that "you only have admission to this programme on the basis of your General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (to be obtained in 2015)" does this mean that it wants my predicted grades of ABC for admission? Or could I get EEE and still be admitted? I contacted the university and they said my offer was dependent on gaining 3 A-levels, but in the terms of the offer it also says that the university has the opportunity to question my final grades?

So would I still have a place offered to me if I flunked and got three Es? Or could they retract the offer?

Thank you :-)

(Also since accepting the offer I've hardly had any information from the University at all whereas Liverpool have emailed me about 80 times a week! Feels like I have no idea what I'm going to be doing in 3 and a half months time!!!)

I emailed them and they said that they will accept me if I get 24 points in my IB, which is considered the minimal to pass, if EEE is considered the minimal to pass in A levels, I guess the same applies.

Not sure if I agree. I think if you apply to a job somewhere, the employer is most likely going to search up the overall ranking of the university, rather than filtering it by faculty. Of course LSE has a 50 general ranking, but that's LSE, and it's still very widely recognized internationally. What I also find off-putting is that the entry requirements for Erasmus are just to pass.. nevertheless, you gave me something to think about, thanks.

They don't give offers to people who just pass, all Dutch university operate by a system where they give offers but let you in if you pass. Then the first year is more harsh than in the UK for example since they have to see if you meet those expectations. The same applies for the US and Canada, where once you get your offer you pretty much ''just have to pass'' aswell
Hi guys ! I got accepted for the IBEB 2015-16 programme and recently started arranging all the practical stuff. But I still haven't figured out one thing. Where can i find the curriculum. Where is it !? I plan to attend the Euro next year and it will be good to know when the academic year ends, so I can sort things out. I appreciate all help, gonna buy you a beer when we meet in Rotterdam.

Cheers Geoff

Thanks for the info  I heard that the Hatta Building is new and close to campus.

By the way, did the univesity send you an invitation to participate in the iBuddy program? I reckon it will be very useful to get in touch wit someone, who can guide you during your first days in Rotterdam.

No problem! yeah well its recently been done up and its on the edge of campus so 5 minutes walk to where lectures will be, so ideal!
I don't think I've had a specific email but yeah I agree, would probably be useful for any questions/problems when starting! Where are you from? And have you been to Rotterdam before?

An employer who employs people from the field of economics, will KNOW that Erasmus is better.

You underestimating Erasmsus Rotterda. The university has excellent partner unis and has been a TRIPLE accrediation whoch only 1% of business schools have.
Hello!
Anyone have any idea where the calendar for International Bachelor in Psychology is? I've searched through the website and can't find it!
Hi Guys,
anyone here that has been offered admission for postgraduate programmes at Erasmus?
Hi Guys,
I am conditionally admitted to the BSc2 Econometrics/Economics. I will receive the final admission offer after sending certified copies of my diploma and grade list.

I will have my exam results in a week and then I will send them to Erasmus. Does anybody know how long it takes Erasmus to check the results and send the final admission offer?

Btw, is anybody going to the Eurekaweek and maybe staying overnight at campus Woudestein? As far as I know there were 2 600 people last year and this number freaks me out a little bit. It would be nice to know somebody there...
