UFC was rubbish. They were all tired after the first round.

Cain will get the title back in Vegas or somewhere.

What are your lots thoughts on your parents/parent/guardian or just the person who raised you in general? By that I mean are you grateful, do you think they could've done better, do you respect them etc.

My mum did an excellent job given the circumstances. My Dad ****ed off and abandoned his family so he gets a 0/10

my parents were a little odd - they were very strict about certain things such as academia and behaviour, but in other areas like curfews they couldn't care less.

i feel like they got much less involved and interested in me towards the end of primary school, but by then their strictness had ingrained a certain work ethic in to me.
so although intelligence isn't solely down to parenting, i do acknowledge my parents for developing my motivation to learn, even if they were severely lacking in other areas.

highly unemotional family; i'm definitely not close with them so it will be weird going back home for a year.

Parents fed me, clothed me and sheltered me but never really thought they parented me in the traditional sense.
Never really took me to the park or asked how my day at school was etc.
never really thought of them as parents more as benefactors tbh.
Always understood the Floyd JR Floyd SR relationship, whereas others were like WTF.

anyway @Pimped Butterfly recommend me some new music man. (I've heard the new weeknd stuff btw). its got to the point where im listening to this FFS:

You don't know what I've done for my nation or the loyalty I show it.

This, btw, was about local pride, rather than national pride. I'm not sure a career in the military is directly related to being proud of dreary little Leeds. And by your own admission in previous conversations, bravery in the context of national pride is not the driving factor in a military career.

Where have I ever mentioned bravery? By my own admission, I've said that national pride isn't a driving force for many in the military. For some it's merely a job, same for those in ISAF, NATO & mercenary fighters in Syria & Iraq. However, for me, it is about national pride. I am proud to be British & I will defend with my life for this country. I don't care if that's 'blind patriotism' or whatever. And tbh you have no idea what I'm actually leaving behind to do this career.

I was born in Pakistan. I moved to Yorkshire when I was 3, and lived in 5 different towns before settling in my current midlands town at the age of 10. In my current town, I have three (massive) league clubs within a 20 minute drive of me. You tell me who my geographical history dictates I support? FC Lahore United, one of the 5 towns in which I grew up in, or one of the three clubs I'm local to (all happen to be pretty much equidistant, ironically)? And this isn't just a theoretical situation, this is my life.

You tell me exactly where you live and I'm sure I could find you a decent league club or even PL club to support. Even FK keeps an eye out for Leeds, he doesn't totally shun his local team.

Plastic fan is a term which has varied meanings. If it means someone who chooses a club, any club, to support and then supports them unfailingly, then by all means call me plastic. I'm proud to be plastic, in that case. I didn't choose to support Liverpool on past or current glories; I chose to support them because I liked Michael Owen. Do I give a **** about lower league clubs? No. Their support is their responsibility and not mine - I'm not morally compelled to further their cause AT ALL.

And Michael Owen was banging them in for a club that was competing for every major honour. If he was scoring like that at MK Dons would you be a Dons fan now? Of course you wouldn't. If it wasn't Owen, it would've been someone else at some other top club. You could so easily be a Man Utd supporter right now, whereas I could only ever be a Leeds supporter & that's the difference between fan A & fan B.

AGAIN, you fail to answer the question. What makes your place of birth the only possible significant connection that can determine one's football club?

Yes I have:

Original post by TornadoGR4
Yes. Yes it is a significant factor. I I genuinely don't feel you can be truly connected and love your club if you're not from the area. You get to know & recognise match goers. As mentioned earlier, Hillsborough is irrelevant to you. But the two Leeds fans killed in Istanbul really resonates with me & other Leeds fans. It's that type of emotional connection you just can't form supporting your club from hundreds of miles away & I'm afraid you'll never realise that.

You failed to provide a proper response.

In this thread:
-Tornado pretends he isn't bitter about globalisation and commercialisation

I didn't try to pretend otherwise. I admit that it annoys me & it's part of the reason why, in my opinion, football is progressively getting ****ter.

-Tornado suggests geography is the only way to have a connection with a football club

No I didn't. I did not say it was the only way to have a connection with a club. Just that those of us with the locality connection have a greater bond to our clubs than those who don't live nearer.

-Tornado ducks the question three times

Already answered, I'm anticipating your response

-Tornado proposes that a military career (with massive self-admitted perks) is the only way of showing love for your nation

No I didn't. Already addressed this point above. You've also failed to show how you love your nation, even though you left it aged 3.

-Tornado suggests that the financial incompetence of lower league clubs is the fault of supporters of other football clubs

If you genuinely think it's financial incompetence of the lower league clubs which causes their struggles you are so blissfully ignorant to how lower league clubs actually operate.

-Tornado assumes why all PL clubs' supporters chose to support their clubs

Show me where I said this. I've only ever said it's the people who live miles away from their Sky clubs. As a matter of fact, the only people I've seen post here who supports a top team & is actually from that area is sr90 & Zurich.

-Tornado claims I got angry when he called me out - despite me being the one who called him out in the first place

You obviously got a bit annoyed if you had to respond in such a malicious manner.
Damn. We got a storm up in 'ere. Or better yet...A Tornado :colone:
