That seems like overkill. Why not just do 4-5 subjects in S6? The Advanced Highers in addition to 5 Highers will be extremely taxing.

I know... I'm not going to hve a good time with my last year at school, it's because of my school who made 4-5th year one year courses, so for example, I could have technically sat my national 5 biology at the end of s4, and have did my 6 highers in fifth year, but the way they laid out their curriculum messed up quite a few of our future prospects...

So for that I need to work twice as hard as I need to in sixth year...

Lucky me , init..

Woah good luck  feel bad for you lot who did nationals tbh
Honestly I don't see CFE as the problem, it's a bit daunting being the first years sitting it but I think apart from having to do an assignment for about 60% of the subjects, it's ok...
S4
National 5 Mathematics
National 5 English
National 5 French
National 5 Design and Manufacture
National 5 Graphic Communication
National 5 Physics

S5 (This year, as in just started)
Higher Mathematics
Higher French
Higher Graphic Communication
Higher German (Crash)
Higher Art and Design (Crash)
Higher Design and Manufacture (Self Study)

S6 (If everything goes right)
Advanced Higher Mathematics
Advanced Higher Graphic Communication
Advanced Higher Design and Manufacture

And I think having assignments is better because it gives those that aren't good under pressure a chance to at least regain some points. And tests skills that would be hard to include in an exam.
