lol the exam papers were stolen? Honestly, I've always wished for it to happen but like on the day of the exam while i'm in the hall xD

But what will happen now? If they've been re written the titles of the synoptic essays will be changed :0 Will everyone do the new paper?

In the psychology exam today, most people did PSYA4R however some schools didn't recieve the new one in time and thus did PSYA4 still.
For the new PSYA4 paper that was done today after being stolen, they repeated some questions from last year, and it was a lot easier compared to the stolen paper (which some students had to sit).
I could quite easily be wrong, but I'm expecting a fairly easy/average paper tomorrow. I'd assume examiners would be in a panic to get a new paper written, so didn't put too much effort into thinking of incredibly difficult questions. Could be wrong though!
Can anyone clear up genetic fingerprinting in a nutshell, I have a sequence of steps in my notes but it's not very clear and I want to make sure im not missing anything

Surely they can't do that? As that won't be fair...

Nope it wasn't fair (I sat the exam today and did the replacement). The ones who got the original were at an advantage because with PSY4 you could predict what they could ask but the replacement you had to go in blind, essentially. Hopefully it means lower GB....
For an inhibitory neurotransmitter...

Pottassium ions open and chloride ions open
More chloride diffuses in
Pottassium out
Inside more negative
Hyperpolorisation
Prevents action potential being fired

is that correct?

When reading off from Sanger technique. Do you read them so if it's in the A tube as a or as t/u

If it's A you read it as A
Rewritten paper just means we do the one set for 2016 instead I believe

Won't that be for new spec starting in September? I highly doubt they would do that

ah okay hopefully the grade boundaries will be lower
in the article it said stolen papers was commonplace for aqa? can someone check if the grade boundaries were affected by stolen papers in previous years?
Does anyone think an essay about specialised cells or hydrogen bonds could come up?
Can anyone dumb down the gene marker stuff. Like replica plating, fluorescent markers and enzyme markers ? Like.. Legit DUMB it down because I'm so confused :frown:

The thing is, AQA don't put the mark scheme or the stolen past paper on the website, let alone the grade boundaries. So we haven't got anything to compare to. As far as I'm aware.

i think theyd be too vague to cover breadth marks to be honest, if you can write at least 5 paragraphs covering all four units OR animal/plant and bacteria then it could come up
