When using calculus, the angle must always be measured in radians

Absolutely correct

Can't believe i added them together to get 67pi/ln3 how many marks would I lose out of 6 because of this??

Of course not as there was a lot more to this question.
How many marks do you think I will lose on the last bit of question 3, where I forgot to add the +4 from e^0?
It was 3 marks, I assume I got 1 mark for integrating correctly, maybe I'll lose 2 or 1 mark?

It'll be more than that since I don't think he can do the paper either...

:[

I believe he'll just retire when he sees the paper
What do people think grade boundaries are going to be? I completely messed up on at least 9 marks, but really want an A

After seeing these answers Im slowly seeing my A* slip away, what did people do for the second part of the differential equation question?
I subbed in p= 4000, then tried to solve for t, but my sin2t was greater then one so I didn't get an answer and left it that. Hopefully only lost 2/3 marks.
And what did people get K to be for the area under the curve question?

I got the same thing too.
Something like 12000 -6 = 4000e^1/2sin2t
Then ln2.9985 = 1/2sin2t
Therefor 2ln2.9985 = sin2t
Therefore 2t equals Math Error

Nah 50 def won't be a B this paper was too easy relative to others

Really? Ahhh a C would be okay anyway! You're probs right
Original post by swagprincess
same here :frown:
it was a horrible paper.. for me

I think the opposite... this paper was so much better than the C3.
The C3 had the horrible trig and range questions, nothing was that hard today.
My answers, judging by other people's opinions I think they're right:

I doubt it. 0.2 yrs for the animals to reach a population of "4000"?! It has to be in degrees so u get 27yrs. C'mon lets be realistic. Do u think humans can produce 4000 offspring in 73 days? (0.2 yrs)

You can't use degrees in calculus.

P was in thousands m8, so you use 4 not 4000

Sometimes, if the exam didn't specify radians or degrees, in the mark scheme there'll be alternative solutions for both cases, both obtaining full marks.
(They've even been really generous in the past by accepting theta in degrees even when it gave the range of theta between 0 and π/2 or something)

NO, if you use degrees you will get M0 A0 for final 2 marks because degree is not alternative method but the WRONG method.
its 473 years, it's in 100s of years bro

:-D congrats dude

This exam took much longer to complete than all my previous maths exam. That being said, I didn't see anything that hasn't been in a past paper before, but that doesn't matter much when you don't have the time to double check your answers.

Hoping for 70+, Arsey where are you?

Requirements for an A* in A2 edexcel maths?

1) 90% Avg in C3 and C4
2) 480 (or more) in all your maths modules combined

When he writes the report and predicted grades he'll be like. Screw this and Screw Edexcel. Im done.

Edexcel where pricks this year. AS students found C2 hard.

C3 - Nope.
C4 - LOOOONNNNGGGGGG.

It was to x^2 I'm afraid, but they won't penalise you for it.

Ahh damn but ty, for part c) did you get 5/3?
how do you even integrate 9^x^2 like pls.
