does anyone remember how many marks it was for the last part of q8?
Original post by Paraphilos
Unfortunately, it does; 32x=(32)x3^{2x} = (3^2)^x by C1 exponentiation laws.

I know. I was getting muddled up with someone previously saying it was 3 to the x squared. That is not what I meant at all. I removed the comment, hahaha I look like such an idiot, oops. :colondollar:
It's like saying 2 + 1 doesn't equal 3... oh dear...

My answers for this paper were:
1) 2+5x/4-25x^2/64
3rt2/2
181/128
2)(2x-3y)/(3x+8y)=dy/dx
+-(24/5,16/5)
3)x=4ln(2)
12+32ln(2)^2-32ln(2)
4) A=5,1,3
p=15
31.82
d=7.46
5)27/32
a=2 b=-5
6)k=4
4pi/3 + rt(3)/2
7) 1/(p-2) - 1/p
0.473
8) x=2 - 1/ln3
area = 13pi/ln3
this is most of the questions that i wrote down my answers to, I am confident in most of them although I am prone to the occasional stupid mistake so if you disagree then I will not argue with you.

Exactly what i got. 75/75 whoz

I know. I've deleted the comment now. I was getting muddled up with someone making it 3 to the x squared. I look like an idiot now hahaha.

Not anymore. You looked like one for a moment though. Jokes.

I agree with all of these.

Would it matter if you wrote 26pi/2ln3 ??

just because u saw ur answer in someones answers doesnt make it a mark scheme answer lol

13pi/ln3 is almost unanimous though!
The radius of the cone was 9, the height was 2 - (x-coord of Q), I think

A lot of people agree on it though

3c... Is that 32ln2 - 12 then after simplification? Since you've not put brackets it seems like +12 but I'm pretty sure I got - 12...not saying you're wrong. Just want to know for peace of mind

My answers, judging by other people's opinions I think they're right:

Did anyone else just use a substitution on the last question? It made it so much easier.

I was going to but ran out of time

Probably not.

You have to get a minimum of 180 UMS across BOTH C3 and C4.

So you could score 95 UMS in C3 and 85 UMS in C4.

And on top of that you need to get a minimum of 480/600 UMS in your whole A Level.

Thank you!! that helps!

Sorry but there's some wrong answers on there

I wasn't saying I had every answer the same as him.

thankyou for this :-) I'm impressed with your memory hahaha

me !!!
Let u = 2x
etc etc

If I got k as 2 and so continued with it through many marks would I lose out of the total 8?

How many marks would I lose for getting the wrong value of X for Q? I got the correct equation and correct integration for b, but got the x co word wrong which will also have affected my cone? I am thinking 4?

Anybody remember what question 3c asked?
If you get the answer right, do you automatically get all the marks?

Same, but I put down 27.1 for t in years as I did it in degrees, ugh oh well hope that will only be 1 mark lost :smile:

We said that the radius of the cone was 2 when it was actually 9 😢

Oh I put the radius as 4.5, but I see why it is 9 now....:O
