Bleh, I missed out nationalism completely in revision, I thought feminism was definitely gonna be coming up as 2 15 markers, guess not.

I only wrote two paragraphs each for two of 15 markers and then the other one I just bullcrapped a bit and made it come off as if I know something. XD

Cultural mixing I just wrote about tolerance, respect, education... didn't really know how to expand on it...
Then for the patriarchy I blabbed on that one...
Ecologism I wrote about sustainability... don't even think that ties in with materialism and consumerism. x)

The essay I did ecologism and I memorised a whole nice long introduction for that one so I'm hoping I was happy to see that question but idk if I did it right still. I did deep vs shallow (social ecology e.g. ecofeminism, ecosocialism) and then I didn't know what to write about right wing conservatives...

I literally had a tiny revision card my teacher had made in my pocket before the exam about that exact question as well. I should've read it properly instead of worrying about the feminism 15 markers... x)

I've tried not to think like that but these exams have been hard and I have sociology tomorrow 😫

what uni you off to?
Well thought there was going to be a nationalism 45 mark question so was solid with nationalism revision.

However, I did the two nationalism questions which I thought were really nice as it was what I revised. Then the patriarchy question was okay but not as good would be shocked if I get less than 12/15 however.

Then it came to the 45 mark question. I thought **** all the time sure that nationalism would come up! But then looked at the gift of a question 'to what extent is Ecologism a single doctrine'. Got soo many thinkers in it. Should get above 37/45. So I would guess it was an easy paper overall but still think I might of got an A.

My firm is queen Mary and my insurance is goldsmiths. I love both unis so I don't mind going to either tbh
Is including political thinkers absolutely necessary to get more marks? I hardly ever mention any names... I only mentioned one in the ecologism essay which was Arne Naess.

Omg, I horribly misjudged that paper :frown: I was so convinced that there would be two feminism 15 markers and no 45 marker that I didn't really focus on feminism as much, which is a shame because that feminism 45 marker looked nice :frown: I did the multiculturalism 45 marker which was quite nice but I didn't have time to mention cosmopolitan multiculturalism and I'm not even sure whether I even answered properly ugh

Same here, AQA. I'm not looking forward to the theories bit.

Is it a 9 marker, 18 marker and 2 essays?

I think maybe a question on realism, ethnicity, Marxism, state crime, suicide and method in context might be official statistics and the theory may be postmodernism, social action and interactionalism

What did everyone write for the cultural nationalism 15?

I defined it (ie wants to defend the nation's cultural heritage, rather than desire for statehood)
I then wrote paragraphs on how it's backwards looking, "mystical", bottom up form of nationalism, provides stability (Scruton) etc. Didn't really know what to say :/

Defined - primordial bonds, language; exclusive, assimilation and main aim to maintain culture of nation
Anyone remember wording of nationalism question- not culturalism

I actually loved that paper. I did the feminism 45 marker, had so much to write for that, little worried because I wrote 5 points for and 4 points against. I then did the 15 marker for feminism which was super easy and the self determination question for nationalism. The only question I struggled with was the cultural mixing question for multiculturalism!

Did it have to be a balanced essay? It was to which extent and my essay was basically how they are opposed with 2 odd paragraphs saying how they were similar

It was a 'Discuss' questions which means you're meant to 'Discuss' both sides of the argument.

How has Nationalism upheld the principle of Self-Determination?

How has Nationalism upheld the principle of Self-Determination?

Were we just supposed to talk a bit about nation-states (and genera will) and defence of self-determination by liberal nationalists?
