Really? did it say specifically of lead?

It gave you the sentence with the data and asked you to explain the sentence

it was 250. The time taken in the muon;s frame of reference was 3.2x10^-7s or something so two half lives had passed.

ah, i must have had the t_0 and t values mixed up

I rate yu

I think it also required use of the "130J" they mentioned.

What for the definition part!? I doubt it
Original post by aprocrastinator
Really?? Basically our school made everyone doing turning points as that's the only topic the teachers knew how to teach but also they felt like it was the easiest to pick up as it used stuff from the other units. those who got above a certain ums at AS level got to choose the other options for self study and I chose medical cos I want to be a doctor :colonhash:

Medical physics is really hard if you're not interested in it! Yeah me either, but never need it again now!!!

I hate medical physics! I'm doing Mech Eng at uni and it doesn't help in the slightest. :frown: Our teacher's claimed it was the easiest module though, so I just went with it. :P
If anyone can put a copy of the questions on here and how many marks they are each worth that would be great! Thanks

It phrased it in such a way that it wanted a definition specific to lead.

If I calculate my 'best possible outcome' according to 2013 grade boundaries... I have the EXACT number of ucas points I need...... Cutting it fine.... Very fine indeed......

Hmmmm.... Can you find the question?
Reply 3490
I cant remember the question but it was something like this. Show that energy of (electron or molecules cant remeber ) is 4*10^-13 J

I got 4*10^-14J

How did everyone else do it.

Yeah I added that too, not sure how important it is. I guess it might be one of those awkward underlined sentenced.

"with no change of state" is a pretty important part of the definition I think, when I've seen it before you need that for the marks.

Lead question: the specific heat capacity of lead in 130.
Explain what is meant by the specific heat capacity of lead. (2)

Nah it did coz it was secifically for the lead so you had to say it takes 130J to raise the temperature of a 1kg sample of lead by 1K without it changing state

find relativistic mass (1 mark)
use E=mc^2 as it wanted total energy so you get 3.somethingx10^-14 (2nd mark)

I did e=mc^2 but got 10^-14 it was supposed to be 10^-13
