got like 11.66 but not checked and owing to some of the numbers I obtained I reckon something went wrong early on; think I got the method though..

edit: by the method I mean a method.

LOL. I actually did make a mistake. -_-' I put a postive in a place where a negative should have been so your answer is prob right XD.

TeeEm, your sub was so much more simplier XD and quicker.

Edit: got 5.57 after correcting my mistake -.-' lol

you will be given a substitution in the exam and you will only be expected to do the one with the limits (easier)

Any strong FP3ers out there?

Try this integration (without clues) if you are hard enough...
I will write and post solutions after my dinner (about 1 hour)

i got 9.42 (3sf)
what's the answer?
Original post by TeeEm
Perhaps you are right...
in an exam you will be given a substitution

use 2x = -1 + 4 coshθ

Solutions in about 20 minutes

I actually came up with that sub..just don't think I did the rest properly. :colondollar:
edit: getting something around 9.41 now rather than my answer before

yes i looked at your method .. i used the same method .. except fewer lines of working since calculator did most of it! what level would you say this question was? on a scale of 1 to 5 ?

When I type it in I get the same expansion I had  But it'd probably be worth trying to do it exact
