What is question 7 again?

reduction formula - not too hard , but I'm pretty bad at reduction formula anyway
Hey guys anyone did IAL f3,?
Standard paper apart from 8c imo hoping for 65. Is there a markscheme?

Ok, i feel fked,
Q1- hyperbolic - easy 1/4ln5/3
Q2 - hyperbolic in exponential - normal
Q3 - eigenvector - normal 2,2+-sqrt(2)
Q4 - integration for (x+1)^2-4 - easy
Q5 - conics? hyperbola - c) is hard
Q6 - vectors - slightly easy than before
Q7 - reduction? strange - normal/hard 8/105
Q8 - conics - hard

Comparing to the hardest paper in history i.e. 2009 or 2014
for 2009 as comparison to 2015
Q1. identical - easier
Q2. vector - easier
Q3. eigenvector - same/easier (they have integer eigenvalues)
Q4.differentiation - normal and little bit hard
Q5. reduction - harder but regular rather than 2015's form
Q6. hyperbola - easier than Q8 in 2015
Q7. vector - slightly harder
Q8. integration - same

and for 2009 is 50 for 80UMS, so 2015 will be -2/3 maximum

Predicted UMS as Minimum (don't think will go lower)

65 - 100UMS
59 - 90UMS
52 - 80UMS

You think a B will be around 46? Need around 65 UMS in that for A overall and think I got around 50 marks you think I've done it?

I'll gave your 2009's

50 - 80UMS
44- 70UMS
38 - 60UMS

It's not likely 2015 will be higher than that but i'm not sure, waiting for larger sample on pull.

the FP3-ers clearly have all gone ...

For the reduction formulae part b was it ok to evaluate -sin^n-lxcosx with pi/2 and 0 as limits and say this was equal to zero. so, In= (n-1)/nIn-2 THEN say that since n is odd and n>=3 that this always will be multiplied by I(1) ie. I subscript 1. Then, calculate this integral which= 1 SO In=blah blah*1 = given
Im scared i dropped marks in reduction for lack of explanation.

I did. It wasn't that hard, just a bit long.
If you couldn't do Q8 part (c) then you clearly didn't do last years paper - it was literally exactly the same method for the question using the C3 formulas

That's what i thought i used factor formula and got gradient of two general points (so grad of chord) as -0.5cot(beta+alpha/2)

What do you feel in comparison with previous paper, especially hard ones - 2014 and 2009, i think 2015 is not that hard but wired and some less able students will preform badly

Not sure i only did 2014. It was harder then 2014.

Ok looks like I might make it then! Cheers

so is my only student on this paper...
Hopefully the other modules and the (possible) low boundaries on this module might come to the rescue.

Yes Arsey did post the MS last year, so just wait
