To be fair the 2007 film was also terrible imo. And this one is being written and produced by the writer of the original, so I'm even more skeptical.
I don't think it looks bad because it's unfaithful the games, I think it looks bad and is also unfaithful to the games. I can see why they'd want to go big and flashy, but constraining themselves to a franchise which isn't suited to this style of film just seems like a recipe for disaster when what they've shown in trailers already lools rubbish in my opinion.
I just don't really think Hitman is suited for the big screen. To be 100% faithful, it would probably be too disjointed and slow-paced for the people who go see it (even fans, as they don't have the immersive aspect of controlling him). I think the best way to go about it would be a mixture of Mission Impossible and Bourne - show the raw, physical fighting aspects of the Bourne movies, but with less shaky cam and gritty realism, and more high-end flashiness that is associated with Mission Impossible.Oh, and Shooter (Mark Wahlberg), which shows the methodical nature of assassinations, and is one of my favourite action movies.
You know what's going to be amazing? Assassin's Creed. The trailers for Macbeth so far have blown me away, with some of the best style and cinematography I have seen for years. With a loyal and well-designed script, I have faith Assassin's Creed can be the video game adaptation we have been waiting for.

Just came here to post this. If BvS can live up to the hype it's building then DC will easily take over from Marvel as the comic franchise I'm most excited about (GotG 2 notwithstanding). This looks really fantastic.

Can't wait for that, although I think SS is treading a lot more of a knife edge (half the Squad in the promo shot look great, the other half looked crappy and Leto covered in tattoos was... interesting). I really hope it's awesome and can get me excited, the darker tone of this extended DC film family is looking great and an awesome parallel to the "lighter" tone of Marvel.As a non-comic reader I don't like the whole "Marvel vs DC" thing, I want to be able to enjoy both series equally and the difference in atmosphere looks set to make the whole thing really cool. Marvel for classic comic-style fun, DC for darker and atmospheric stuff. That would be freaking sweet.
Also, I don't give a toss what people are saying about Affleck, I'd bet money that he's going to ****ing kill it. Eisenberg has won me over too.

I don't mind Affleck at all since it looks like he'll be awesome in this film.
They could've done better than Eisenberg! That's the main problem IMO.

Definitely a lot more excited for it now after seeing the tone they're going for, rather than just a bunch of people standing in a line in costumes. I'm not completely sold on it yet but it's winning me over more and more, especially now that we've seen a bit more of Leto and what we've seen looks very cool imo.
I think he sounds quite a lot like Heath's Joker but other than that he looks great imo. This little snippet of him and the leaked set footage I think he definitely has the movement down.

I don't even think sounding like Ledger's Joker is necessarily a bad thing, it doesn't need to be said how excellent that performance was and I don't mind Leto taking inspiration from that at all as long as he manages to avoid coming across as a rubbish impersonation. I have faith, and the tone they've set for The Joker has so far quashed my initial concerns of potentially being overly "edgy".

it was meant to be a treat for comic-con fans not for worldwide audience but the leaked version got 7 million views so they decided to release it.
