Thank you! I don't want to put my full address on a public forum, but it's one of the upper floors so I'm pretty pleased, though I've heard the lift often doesn't work so it might be a bit of a trek

I don't remember it not working particularly often tp be honest - if I were you I'd make friends with people in the middle flat of the floor so that you have both lifts available to you.

Oh I didn't know there were three flats on each floor, do people end up socialising with the other flats? are they seperated by locked doors?

They are separated by locked doors, yes. Personally I didn't socialise with the people on the other flats on my floor, but some of my flatmates did. (I'm not big on the party party thing, so)

Hey RibenaRockstar, can you remember how the rooms were numbered in terms of which end's which?
I've been offered room 3, I'm hoping for one towards the south.. am I in luck?

Hiya, I was just wondering how you know what room you've been allocated? I applied for accommodation in Norwood at 9am on the morning the applications opened but the confirmation email they sent me said that allocation details come out in August and early September.
Thanks

I lived at Norwood this year and there are so many rumours about it...1- I lived on the top floor and so the noise never bothered me. Yes you can hear it, but you get used to it, and more often than not you'll be at the SU making the noise anyway. If not, then there is a corridor which leads straight from Norwood to the library (you don't have to go outside) so if you'd rather study then the library is open 24/7. If you live on the bottom floor of Norwood then you get free entrance into the student nights, tickets which are highly sought after. 2- the lift does not break often. There are stairs if so, and it's better because you often bump into your friends on the way up 3- the rooms are huge! Biggest on campus. I had sleepovers with my friends in my room- we actually put another bed frame in the room! 4- the location is the best. You can see everything that is happening on campus and you walk through the SU to get to Norwood so you always know what is going on, I really got involved with the uni this year, whereas I know many other people from other accommodations didn't have a clue what was going on.. Also, some classes are held in the same building as Norwood so you can literally roll out of bed two minutes before and be early for your seminar.5- some of the SU team live in Norwood, which was really helpful this year. You get to know the uni so much better, with an insight into events etc.. They were really nice guys and it's definitely an advantage, especially during freshers when you have no idea what's going on.6- kitchens and bathrooms are shared between 7, absolutely no problem with this.Let me know if there are any other queries.

Thanks
My situation is unusual, basically I applied via the additional requirements form because I have a problem with my lung, but also I did my A levels 2 years ago so my place is confirmed (and I'm starting again because I switched course last year)
AFAIK they don't like to send accommodation offers until people's place at bath is confirmed, so I think some IB people might have their offers, but I don't really know, I'm kinda out of the loop haha
Possibly see you next year!

I will say that the rooms are noticeably bigger on the lift side of the building than the stairs side (that's the west/library side rather than the bus stop side - it'll make sense when you see it). I was on the stairs side and although my room was big (space for an airer for drying clothes!) I don't think I could have got a second bed frame in there.
