I made another "pair" today with a square root instead of the exponential.
As a challenge see if you can write an analogous pair of questions.

Are you training us into little TeeEm's?

I am trying...

To make the question, is a more advanced mathematical skill than to to solve it ...

What does analogous meAn?

when I made the question yesterday I started with y = ex/(1+ex)
I made the first question to find the derivative in terms of y

Then for the ODE I differentiated the derivative and wrote everything in terms of y again. I gave this as the second question (with some conditions to make the numbers nice)

Then I started experimenting with "harder drugs"
I started with y = √x / (1 + √x)
I made the another "first question" to find the derivative in terms of y
Then I made "another second question"

I did not give this second pair as the solution to the second is not nice ...

all clear?

Means "like" or similar but when you compare two different things.

So something could have a property and something else could have a property that follows the same sort of idea but isn't the same.

Easier with an example but I can't think of one lol

This...

Edit: Updated the file, put more hints and added an extension question.

Oh and ignore the first hint, I changed the question in the end so that you don't need it.

Warning: It's absolutely brutal.

It took me about 25 mins to get from the answer to the D.E, but 4 hours to get from the D.E to the answer. Good luck

I'll post the solution tomorrow if requested

I have already done it.

I wrote the ODE a bit better/ neater but that is still very hard to tidy to the answer, which of course I knew what it was ...

it is because it is brutal to tidy (and beautiful at the same time) I chose not to post that one last night....

let us see how many will manage it

I assume it is y = √x / (1 + √x)

How did you write it? My way the integration is quite messy, as you have to come up with a lot of substitutions. Also, I had to use Wikipedia for a trig formula...

then I take back what I said as I assumed you did y = √x / (1 + √x)

I will have a go at yours and gagaface1, this evening

Can you confirm in the condition x=11/2 ?

Sorry, it's π/2, my handwriting is just really bad
