my neighborhood got burned 2 years ago so there is nothing to burn. Houses are made of concrete here, so they do not burn.

I see, but the damage from the flames can still be devastating (most houses are indeed concrete, except for my school so hopefully the fires don't reach it even though it's in the same area).

Hi, bit random, but how do you solve this recurrence relation:

g(3)=3, g(n+1)=g(n)+n-1

For my 'P.I', I tried g(n)=λn+μ, but this doesn't work, so I tried g(n)=λn^2 +μn

Is this correct to do?

it works exactly the same way as ODEs, so if the "PI" is part of the CF you multiply by n.

I need to think (and I am updating my site now) but g(n+1)=g(n)-1 is a simple AP

Ok thanks, just checked wolfram and the formula I obtained using λn^2 +μn is correct :smile:

just to clarify, is the extra accessible to A2 students? will have a go if so but looks rather foreign at first sight.

I have been saving a few tbh including some of the early ones. Saved one the other day - some integration Q about Lucy??. I still have that Q with powers of x and y. I said I'd do it this weekend when I got back. Saved the original with no solution so wont be tempted to look at answer. I aim to make completing your daily Q part of my daily routine over the next few weeks....
