Is it just r = +/- 1/2 for multiple values?

Of course haha, knew I'd forgotten something! Thanks

You're welcome

Extra seems interesting... How many possible values are there?

ATTENTION for the EXTRA for FRIDAY

there is a typo again but it does not affect the question or the method, just the answers

the way the question is typed you will get as answers 4 and 16/5

the question should read

"find the value of 7cosx+6sinx" in which case you get as answers 2 and 6.

Just to understand how these errors occur.
I had the question originally as you have it but I did not like the 16/5 as the answer.
I improved it so it has integer answers, but I forgot to retype the question.

I am not sure if I fully understand your question but I think If I understood it correctly yes it does.

you apply the innermost product first, then the outermost

Ah fair enough. I subbed/checked for a few n values so if it's familiar it's probably good, thanks

ATTENTION

for those who find these questions too easy or are just bored try to solve

cotθ + 3tanφ = 3
3sinθ + 2cosφ = 4

I know the answer because I made it ... but I cannot solve it yet!

Great thanks  I started with the trig one using a systematic/"normal" approach but the equations get out of hand..

they beat me too ... I spend about an hour on them but I was to busy with other things so I threw the towel.

They are so annoying because one would assume if you know the answers and make them balance, surely they cannot be too bad to solve them analytically...
