The Student Room Group

UCAS and Access course results.

Hi all,

I'm confused with all this UCAS stuff.

This link says that UCAS doesn't update access courses :-http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/content.php?r=15447-ucas-track-on-results-day

However UCAS says it does:- https://www.ucas.com/ucas/undergraduate/apply-and-track/results/sending-exam-results

Whilst I'm inclined to believe UCAS itself, I've received my certificates of my results over a week ago, and my UCAS hasn't updated. I had hoped that during the downtime over the weekend, it would've updated.

I've sent some photo's of my certificates to my uni this morning, and I'm checking my email every 2 minutes! Although part of me thinks that there wont be anyone there this week, with it being the holidays etc.

HELP!!!! I'm going round and round in circles!

Yeah - the TSR page might be a bit out of date - Access courses have moved into the 20th Century over the last few years when it comes to results.

If you've met your offer relax and give your uni time to get round to it. If nothing has updated by Thursday first thing ring them up and get names and job titles to make sure your results got through OK and they'll update Track ASAP....that way with a bit of accountability you should see your place confirmed before Track goes into lock down on friday night for the A level results.

Unfortunately, there is no consistency with Access courses. Sometimes the exam boards notify UCAS and sometimes they don't. It's best to send scans of your certificates directly to the university admissions tutor, as you've done. Hope you hear soon.

Thanks,

I've had a reply from the uni I applied to, to just say thanks for letting them know. I checked my UCAS an hour later and it had been updated and I've been accepted!! YAY! I can finally start to get excited and officially say that I am going to be a student!

Thanks!
Access course results are notified to UCAS by colleges and UCAS sends an update to the Unis on approx a weekly basis of the results they actually have. It is not unknown for a) results to get delayed or 'lost' between colleges and UCAS or b) for it take weeks for the results to get to your Firm Uni and a decision on your application to be made You can take all the chance and making anxious delay out of this by sensing the result straight to your Uni.

I had an email from my college mid-July to say that they had passed the results to UCAS and it should be 'showing shortly', but it never did. Thankfully I emailed them, and I've now been accepted.
