Poor AS Results - What to do next?

Hello,

I've just taken Year 12 at my school and got my results today which were as follows

B= Economics
B = Sociology
E = Religious Studies
E = English Literature

The rules of our sixth form means that I cannot carry on into Year 13 taking ever Religious Studies or English Literature and if I want to carry on at my current sixth form I will need to attend school on 28th August and pick two new AS Levels.

However, as Year 11's would've already picked their subjects by then only a few subjects will be left free and I've been informed these are normally specialist subjects such as Product Design, Music, Languages etc.

Therefore, I am in a bit of a pickle of what to do next. I plan on looking for some alternative colleges (I am guessing that The Sociology and Economics course would have to be identical as I plan on doing these 2 for A2 wherever I go and then use the other two AS grades to help bump up my UCAS points).

Also as I have done much better during the year for RS until this final exam so I am considering getting it re-marked especially after seeing an article about possible guesstimation when it comes to marking exams. I have a form that I may fill out to get paper re-marked so I am likely to get a Priority Script Return First for £13 and then see one of my RS teachers asap and go through it with them and then based on whether or not they think I may have a good case for a remark either ask for a re-mark or not. (However, what worries me is even if I do send for a remark and do get it up to a D, by the time all of this is sorted out, school would of started and I will already be behind.

For RS I am using Edexcel and in the paper I am planning to get re-marked 2 extra marks from a 26/50 to a 28/50 would get me up to the UMS for a D. Is it a realistic possibility for me to get an extra 2 marks from this paper.

Also would like clarification on whether I'd be able to do RS as an AS course if I was to move college/sixth form as I really like the subject and have shown ability up until the exam but really let everyone down with my mark in second paper.

Hopefully I've made my situation reasonably clear but just in a state of disappointment after these results (so forgive me if my writing is a bit all over the place) especially as tbh after the exams I thought RS would be okay and that whether I got into next year or not would be dependant on my Economics grade.
I think the Edexcel RS has been really harsh this year, lots of people have got much lower than expected, I am getting mine remarked so I think it's a good idea to get it remarked

i don't see why wouldn't be able to do RS at another sixth form
however, marking in RS is quite subjective and can go up a lot, so it is worth a remark and you might find this brings your whole grade up a lot.

Ok thankyou for info and it makes me feel slightly more hopeful hearing that Edexcel have seemed to be harsh with their markings for RS AS Level across the board hopefully all of us planning to get our results re-marked can get a higher mark second time round.

That is a good point about RS being quite subjective hadn't really considered that in the heat of the moment of getting Exam Results

Hi what is your knowledge of the remark process as have a form for it and I'm trying to find out if there is a way for me to get just the script returned and then discuss with my teachers whether or not the examinors were correct or harsh in my instance and then apply for a re-mark, however from looking at re-mark form it appears that I can't get the script without getting it re-marked. So would just like to confirm that I haven't missed something obvious on the form. (Apologies if you don't have re-mark form yet and last couple sentences have been worthless)
