Anyone else have parents who can't take a joke?

I just got a macbook and discovered Photo Booth. Naturally I found it hilarious and was playing around and I decided to show my dad the 'chipmunk' setting and pointed it toward him. He got really stern and told me that I shouldn't be 'doing this stuff to elders' (implying that it's disrespectful) and to stick with playing around with it with my siblings :confused:

Unfortunately I can't show anything to my dad without him getting angry about it because he perceives everything as a personal affront, even if it is hilarious and impersonal and is so unbelievably uptight and cannot take a joke.

Anyone relate?

yeah it's so annoying. I hacked my sisters twitter and retweeted loads of gay porn, and when my sister found out she was laughing so hard and told my mum and she got SO mad at me it was ridic :colonhash:

this other time I was on Sims and I purposely built a little house thing to burn my sims in and my mum said that Sims basically breeds terrorists, and she was so mad that I was killing them :gigg:

it was annoying, pretty much if I got sent for something I would jokingly object to it (this started about 3 years ago) and my mom would get so furious with me that whenever I did it, I would usually get a lecture on 'disrespecting your parents/doing what you are told'
and it would always end up with 'you're my child and children have to do stuff for their parents'. Like really :angry:

I honestly am a slave/ex-slave to them :angry:

but at least she got used to it (or unless she didn't care less because I was in my last year and am going to uni)

Yeah, my parents do that too. Like if I'm joking about or I'll be sarcastic, I have to apologise and my mum thinks that I don't treat her with respect.

Same, I said a joke when I was doing the pots my mum made some cereal and I said "oh giving me another pot to wash" I said it in a joking way and she went ballistic it's things like these that make me want to leave the house so bad.
