Is it possible to defer for the second time?

Does anyone know if it is possible to defer your entry for a second time. Its at a different institution than my last deferral. Will universities be able to see this if you applied the following year - should this affect your chances of getting a place?

Thank you

You can defer as much as you like - until you feel ready to start your course. You just need to speak to your universities.

However if you defer your place you'll have to give this up if you want to reapply via UCAS - you can't hold a place while applying elsewhere UCAS will cancel either your deferred place or your application if you try.

Universities can usually see if you're deferring (it's clear that there is a gap in your education for a start) but that isn't usually a problem except with a small handful of subjects like maths where academic currency is important...or if you defer and spend your gap year sat on the sofa playing games and don't use your time well.
