Best maths text book?

Which AS Maths book(s) are best? What are the EdExcel (Pearson) text books like? Are they worth it? Is there any others which are better?

Edexcel books are very good. The way every chapter is settled and especially the different exercises in each sections. The mixed exercises are really helpful and all the theory part is so clear.

Despite the the errors in the M1 book, they are the best option and if you are only planning on buy one set of books it would be those. There are other adequate books that many schools use. Have your school not told you which book they want you to work from?

I'm only a few days in and as of yet my school haven't really mentioned text books. I brought the idea up to one of my teachers yesterday and he showed me the C1 EdExcel books and stated in his opinion those are best but they're not a necessity.

Would you say the EdExcel books are best? Is there any other alternatives you can think of, CGP, perhaps? If a combination of books work better I'd be willing to hear what they are, thanks!

Some teachers teach from a text book using examples from it and setting practice exercises and homework from the book. Other teachers use a range of resources and it sounds like this is what your teacher plans to do.
If you are not going to need a text book then a revision guide would be useful. CGP are fine for AS revision those personally I like these (revision guide and workbook)

The link to the EdExcel maths book you posted is substantially cheaper than the one I found. Apart from appearance, do you know any difference between the two? -
