A level exam clashes, what to do?!
I know its a bit early but i got bored so i checked when my AS exams were and i noticed that 2 clash. My edexcel arabic exam is on may 25th in the afternoon and lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes. My history (also edexcel) is on may 25th in the AFTERNOON and lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes. Total of 4 hours and 5 minutes of writing😫😭
They're both at different centres but its only a 5 minute walk between both so its okay.
So what shall i do?!
I read I can get a 10 minute break but since they're both writing exams i wont be able to write and will probably fail the exam i take second. Is it possible to take one in the morning despite it being scheduled for the afternoon?! Also, since they're at different places wont that complicate things..?!!??

Don't contact edexcel they don't care, it's not their problem.
Talk to your exams office about the arrangements they can make. You will have to be supervised between exams.

If this ever happened to someone in the high school (I wasn't aware of it happening to anyone in my college haha
) I went too, what they usually did was allow you to sit one in the morning and one in the afternoon.However, this meant that the person would have to be in isolation all day too. This was to prevent cheating. This is because, if, lets say, you sit the History exam in the morning, and the other in the afternoon, and they let you out between the exams, you could go tell all the other History students what's on the paper as you've already sat it and everyone else won't have.
Although, every school/college is different, so your college may have a different approach to dealing with this issue.
I wouldn't panic yet though as it's still a way off. I'd speak to you're college about it if your really worried about it. I wouldn't bother e-mailing Edexcel - not their problem! It may bring it to your colleges' attention too as other students may also end up having this problem.

Ah, yeah, just wait and see what your exam officer says. I wouldn't get your hopes up though; your college may have a totally different policy and way of dealing with this when it comes stuff like this

Don't talk to Edexcel, they do not deal directly with candidates.
This happens all the time, but in your case it is slightly complicated by the fact you are taking exams at 2 different centres. You will be allowed to move one exam to earlier in the day (e.g. a 0900 start) but you will have to be fully supervised by centre staff from starting that exam until finishing the second. Try to see if you can take both exams at one centre as the alternative would have to be a member of the centre staff escorting you between the centres - if they are not willing to do that then you would not be able to take the second exam. However, I'd leave it for now as they will be busy with post results and the start of term and have more pressing things to worry about - talk to them in November.

What is with you?
I was only saying what happened at my school and that it might or might not be the same for everyone. Surely this shows my uncertainty on this subject and how it works for different schools so I don't see why you feel the need to nit-pick!

Your school rearranges clashed exams for you, not the exam board, but only if you tell the exams office there is a problem, so do it asap.

Since they're both so close (my sixth form and other exam centre), i think the exam centre may let me do it in sixth form^_^ and thanks, i'll do that^_^

Not sure you realise how strict the rules are on supervision of candidates and security of exam papers before and after the exam. If the centre was willing to let you sit a paper at your school and your school was willing to do that then it would be far better if your school entered you for the exam. They don't have to teach the subject to be able to do that.

They aren't allowed to take papers off site (without applying weeks in advance). The simplest solution as GDunne42 says, is to enter for both exams in the same place.

I'm not trying to get at you, I am just trying to provide people with accurate answers and helpful answers, referenced where possible so they can check if they want to be sure, The may mean i correct the post of someone before me - it's in no way personal, I do it because it aids clarity. You clearly find me unduly picky, but what's the point in people asking questions if no one makes an effort to provide the right answers?

I see where you're coming from, but yes I do find you a little too picky for my liking
Technically, what I said before that about having one exam in the morning and one in the afternoon and being in isolation all day is correct, seeing as it is essentially the same as what you said. However, all I was saying after that was 'I don't know if it works the same for other schools/colleges.' It may have been the same, it may not have been. I was only saying what happened in my high school and saying it might/might not work the same way for OP's college. I answer threads to the best of my knowledge. I wouldn't post something if I knew it was wrong (which is why I didn't want to say 'yes, this is definitely how it will work for all colleges/schools.')
I don't see why you had to pick me up on that.
EDIT: I don't want to cause any arguments here, I'm just clarifying what I meant in my original post.
