Yes, I wish I lived as an aristocrat or monarch in 13th or 14th century England.

are you clapped? in 1660 youd get jooked for being an LGBTBBQ

plus bare of my black dons were sold to slavery

No. It was mainly the Irish who were enslaved in Britain at this time. If you were just a black person you wouldn't have been enslaved. Unless you were part of the African slave trade.

So does anything else wish they were born in a different time? With different morality, laws and political system to the one we currently live in. Everything just seem so obviously immoral to me these days and I can't stand it. :frown:

So you basically wish you are dead? coz thats what you would be if you were born in 1660............. unless you were some sort of tree but even then your chances would still be slim, and im assuming you mean AD not BC.

I think I was born at about the right time. Just in time to get myself a fast motorbike, but just enough time to speed around before those bastard yellow speed cameras were introduced. Plus I got to see the surface of Pluto, play the original Metal Gear Solid and see Hale Bopp. These would have been a bit tricky had I been born on the Titanic or was a dinosaur.
I suggest you read Pepys, being a church-going Anglican in 1660 appeared to involve rather more cavorting about London, watching cheap entertainment, reading smutty books, getting wasted and groping random women than today

Not so bad if your were black or a woman. In many way better.

How can you have ever been in the same room as a history book and still think that?

I wish I'd been born in the early 1600s, so I could participate in the English Civil War and fight on the Roundhead side. Cromwell was a great man.

This is clearly a troll thread. Morals are more lax now than they were then, even if the Restoration provided a temporary relaxation in morals.

Because in case you haven't realised Black people don't have it great in Britain right now and there are records of Black people in Britain of that time period who got on and became well to do. So that is where I get it from. Just there were very few non white people. Also women had the protection of married, rapists were hung, they brought up the children while the men went off to war and did work. So women has it better in the period I want to go back to than women do today. Just women couldn't have any political power, indeed only male Protestants could.
