I'm doing a general medicine Personal statement
I'm not sure
Surely they'll know the reason why?
Because we didn't have the standard qualifications for normal entry ?
I'll ask someone who does foundation medicine
And let you know

Coolio
Thank you

You don't need to write why you're applying for the 6 year course- they'already know
Just do a medicine personal statement

Hey guys!! How's your preparation for UKCAT and personal statement!?
Also what kinda work experience do you have?

-Going to ring my moms friends daughter as she's a doctor and try arranging a shadowing placement.
-Got a care home placement arranged
-1 month youth volunteering scheme- includes contact with the general public
-1 week opticians
- Observed a psychiatrist when he was treating a member of family ~ even though this isn't an official placement I was able to reflect upon it.

I'm omitting the optician work experience if I'm able to get the shadowing placement
And you can do it
It's not about quantity it's quality that counts

That's true
I think the most important bit for me is the first part of the personal statement - why you want to medicine!
I think here you have to be really unique and just sell it.

It would be kings I think because I live in London.
But Southampton isn't too far away  so I don't mind either!

I don't qualify for kings programme,
I can only apply to Nottingham and Southampton so if I get offers from both probably Nottingham as it's closer to home, but I'd be more than happy to go to southampton

Haha, I don't qualify for the Nottingham programme.
I'm applying to Kings, Southampton and Queen Mary programmes.
What's ur backup?
I think mine would be therapeutic radiography at Cardiff and St George's.

I think I may also apply for university of East Anglia

What is Queen mary's criteria?
I'm just going to take a gap year and reapply if I don't get in the first time around.

I can't apply to east Anglia *sigh* I did rubbish in my GCSE English I only got a C
I wish you could make up for it with your A level results as I did 2 essay based subjects and got As in both of them - surely that demonstrates my essay writing skills more than GCSE English right?

I can't apply to East Anglian either because my secondary school got 70% A*-C.
For queen mary, you have to be living in the boroughs newham, tower hamlets or Barking and Dagenham.
