:erm: Exposure is the biggest culprit for anything. You don't know about it unless you see it or are told it exists.

And censoring it wont change the fact that one can still access it.

Did I say it was? I watch it because I like it. So what?

But the question is, is it responsible for certain issues in society, particularly with children.

Not whether you like it or not :console:

Wait. How can you access it if it's blocked?

Give me details :colone:

Lol. But that's not necessarily true, but if you're going to reference a comedy film....

sigh... I was using that example with humorous intent... But it would be a miracle if the guy lasted more than 3 minutes.

No, I've got nothing against it.

You're right. Nobody likes to see degrading images and videos of women showing their genitals, commiting gross sexual acts and having unprotected sex out of wed-lock...

...more than I do.

So? With any chemical what matters is the amount and frequency of release. Yes, people do get addicted to working out and chocolate but that's not what we're talking about here, and they certainly do not have the same consequences as porn addiction. The frequent release of dopamine as a result of regular porn both desensitises you and can get you addicted.

Why don't they have the same consequences if they're releasing the same chemical? I would think (without looking at studies) that working out would actually release more dopamine because your body needs it when it's so exhausted.

Well I laughed.
And are you saying porn has biologically matured people for sex?
That is kind of silly because porn as far as like videos on the internet which is what we're discussing, developed in the late 20th century.
But sex and humans have been around for 100s of 1000s and millions of years, dude. So were people just cumming off the top for all this time?
No.

Total shocker, I know
You have the free will to decide whether you will or will not view porn. Wasting money on censorship which people will inevitably try to bypass is just...no.

Don't see why its the governments job to smack your hand and say "no, don't touch!".

No. Serotonin is what is released when you need to relax or when you're tired.
Dopamine is the pleasure chemical.

I meant the same consequences in terms of how that addiction manifests itself in your behaviour. All addictions require being reliant on the activity for the high you feel, but damaging the body by working out more is different from damaging your psyche because of porn and what I said about desensitisation and unrealistic expectations.

Also, even if it is the same chemical the brain is highly complex and again, it's the frequency and the amount of chemical being released that determines the effects rather than the chemical itself.

Proxy server/VPN
Ban all pornography.

Intercourse if its going to occur should occur within (arranged) marriage.

I'm scared that you know this while also excited to learn more

Haha. Not going to happen. The left will not attempt to afflict backward viewpoints upon the population and the right will want to protect their friends in the multi-million pound British porn industry.

I know lots :colone: They basically change your IP address to make it appear that you're ina different country, tbh I learned of them back in school to get around blocked websites but now I still use them to access torrent and film streaming sites that have been blocked by my ISP
This anti-porn stuff is as hysterical as all the anti-cannabis rubbish that came out during the middle of the last century. If a group of humanoid mammals wants to make a visual recording of two willing performers connecting certain fleshy appendages with certain orifices and moving them together in such a way that it causes their nervous system's to release chemicals in their brain that makes them feel pleasure, and if some other Homo sapiens want to watch it so their brains can also release dopamine, then guess what it has to so with you?

Diddly squat.}

All kinds of things are blocked by ISPs, such as streaming sites. But even with the most simple proxy one can access them.

Even here in the UK one can get Class A drugs delivered by Royal Mail to your front door all through the use of the internet.

That actually works?? And by simply choosing to look like you're from Indonesia, you can fool the government? Excelleeeeent. :ahee:

Unless the gov't taxes porn, how does the gov't. benefit from porn? Not being sarcastic, do they economically benefit from porn?
