Some will bounce back readily. Others will be scared for life.

But to allow such high numbers of our young to be negatively effected like you were shows just how low society is sinking.

Its crazy!
The most recent one I watched was called 'sex in class', it's not on 4od anymore butmust be somewhere on the internet.
Another one was about porn addiction in boys and young men, I don't remember the name of that one but it was very interesting. Boys in their early teens had so much porn on their computer.. and another young man was a chronic masterbater which was sad because he had no control..
I'm sure there'll be some others on youtube, I only watch British documentaries so idk if there's any American ones too

Thanks for this. To way too many, nothing is real until it hits the news.

As they ignore all the evidence, yes.

Have you seen this sex and text information?

Interesting. You should watch the TEDx talk on porn addiction. That made me stop.

I have some of those in the O.P.

Sorry I didn't click on the links. I think it was called the Great Porn Experiment.

Hogwash.

Try to find anything that is child porn.

That aside.

Parents of earlier generations always used censorship to control what their children could access. That tool is no longer an option thanks to the internet and I think that it should be given back so that parents can exercise their duty as they see fit.

Adults are putting themselves first instead of their children. We no longer care and have forgotten our duty to family and do not have enough honor to be shamed by our actions.

You know that really wouldn't be hard. Just go on the deep web. Anyone can access it
I must have missed the episodes where the crew look at internet porn...

If so then so can governments and they can shut it down.

This is a tool that humans control that we are talking about and not a tool that controls us unless we let it.

Well so far they have been completely unsuccessful in shutting down most of the illegal activity on the deep web.
Sure they shut down Silk Road, but within a week 3 sites identical to it popped up and are still operating.

They can't shut it down easily because they do have access to the servers and Tor bypasses the Government blocks imposed. They can sometimes catch those accessing the illegal porn sites, but they have not shut them down easily.

Have read about it.

Porn is essentially a lot like a drug. It stimulates the release of pleasure chemicals such as serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin which makes you feel really good. The body then craves this chemical cocktail (pls, I did not mean the pun) which is why it is easy to get addicted.

The fact that anyone can get exposed and so strongly hooked to porn (especially teens) makes it dangerous.

Also porn encourages male dominance and sexual violence a lot of the time and has indirectly led to a more sexualised music industry (which we are also exposed to).

essentially it is taking over the lives of many people and they only realise when it's too late

Having lived in the UK, a very liberal society, and in Turkey, a very conservative society, I have to be honest and say that I think in reality it does make a difference but there are both pros and cons. The younger generation in the UK are far more foul, more rude, use horrific language in public and generally see such issues in a lot of cases as a big joke. In Turkey, this isn't the case to such an extreme, but this has often led to the topic being seen as taboo and many keep things behind closed doors and it has led to an extremely protective environment. I have to be honest, having experienced both, I am far more in favour of a conservative attitude on this issue. In the UK its far easier to pick women up on a night out but then in Turkey dating is better and is taken a lot more seriously. Personally, I think the over exposure to sexual material in the UK has morally corrupted many youngsters in modern society.

I'm not sure.

The culture of this country, does massively feed into a society of rude foul people and women you could easily bang if you met them in the right context (this may or may not be a good thing in your mind), but cultures which are really sex negative, have much more extreme problems, sexual abuse and rape as well as a mentality where covering up sexual abuse or secret affairs seems normal and that is truly poisonous.

Listen to the 4th link in the O.P.

It speaks or regular kids and not ignorant ones.

If "regular" kids think cumming on a womans face is their right because they saw it in porn, i have no sympathy unless you are talking about 12 year olds and in that case they won't even be able to produce sperm yet so its redundant

Anybody who can cicumvent porn filters and find whatever porn they like can also use google and internet forums to educate themselves so no sympathy from me

Is internet porn ruining our next generation? Is censorship the answer?

These scholars and experts are at the forefront of this research. Apologies but you will have to listen to at least one of these clips to get what this O.P. is all about.

Is it possible that in sexual matters, the right wing conservatives might be ahead of the left wing in their thinking?

If not, then what should the left do to help us save our children from the indoctrination via internet porn into unhealthy and unwanted sexual habits? Or have them not be able to perform without porn?

I consider myself left wing but I think we may be going a tad far and should move to the right on this issue due to things like you saw in the clips above as well as what is shown in this clip below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=aQIBpGu5I6E

At one time, parents would have closed any shop that gave access to the young to porn. Yet today, parents do not seem to care and as more and more young children get cell phones, parental prohibition will be impossible.

Have parents forgotten how to parent and are men and women willing to allow the status quo to ruin the sexuality of the next generation?

"Censorship reflects society's lack of confidence in itself. It is a hallmark of an authoritarian regime." - Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart

To date, I have lived by the above quote. I do not lack confidence in our adult population but see this issue as more of a medical one and I am willing to censure for our children's sake.

Some Eastern countries have used censorship to gain control of what their children can access. Should the West do the same?

Are our children worth it?

DL

"Is internet porn ruining our next generation? Is censorship the answer?" No, and no.

So is cumming on a woman's face wrong?

By default I think so. I dont enjoy doing it, makes me feel bad demeaning someone I care about. If a girl likes that, then its not "wrong"

Ok, was just making sure that you do not view it as 'wrong' even if the girl likes it.

On a side note, I would never do such a thing to a woman as I personally think it's disrespectful and rather disgusting.
No and no.

That Cambridge study you quoted clearly said compulsive users, not all or the average user. And the 50% figure is even among those compulsive ones only. And male only. You can get addicted to anything and that'd be bad for you.

If the political will is there, governments can do as they wish with our tools and the internet.

Ask North Korea, China and others who are doing just that.
