would any of you have a relationship with a realistic sex robot?

If the robot was a perfect simulacrum of a human being, then I'd treat it the same way I treat all the other perfect simulacra of human beings in my life.

I reckon that if androids were produced that were actually indistinguishable from real people, they ought to be treated as real people. Otherwise it could just get embarrassing.

That would cheapen humanity. I've earned my right to be called "a person" through millions of years of evolution that cant be equaled by something that came off a manufacturing line.

But as androids can only be created by beings that have been through that same evolution. They are entitled to that same kind of glory you are claiming.

bull****...all that they are is a grace, graciously bestowed upon them; not earned.

Grace:
courteous good will."he had the good grace to apologize to her afterwards"synonyms:courtesy, courteousness, politeness, manners, good manners,mannerliness, civility, decorum, decency, propriety, breeding,respect, respectfulness;

Just saw a video on TYT about this topic and one academic claimed sex robots would cause more objectification by men towards women, and that they would 'replace' women, leading to far worse human interaction between the sexes. What she doesn't seem to realise is that in such a futuristic scenario, women would be using male sex robots too... but the social interaction point would stand I guess.

However, what if we had artifical intelligence so advanced it was uncanny to a human's available today? What if said AI was also packaged in a very realistic sex robot, so much so that you couldn't tell it apart from a real human being? Finally, what if they were mass produced and sold for only a few hundred pounds? Would you actually forgo a relationship with a real person, for a sex robot? I wouldn't, it just creeps me the **** out... but maybe I'm too close minded. Some comments on the video were by guys saying how lovely it would be to have sex robots. They wouldn't nag, or be entitled, or moan etc. Such generalisations are idiotic to me, but I guess that's how some guys see women.

Discuss.

I would it's just a better sex toy.

As for just using them rather than women.... Err no

A sex bot would never talk back to me like that

Until it's AI "evolves" and it starts to hate you.

I've often thought about this and its frightening the rise of android kind would be a greater threat to humanity than homosexuality is now (les/les progeny asexual reproduction). I feel already life-like androids should be banned and forced to have an angular shape, I've often observed robo appliances referring to themselves as a 'person' rather than a "unit", thats wrong they are not persons they are things.

I am disgusted at the idea of robosex but in the form of vibrators its already here.
But our children will see it as normal same as the shrinking miniskirt analogy (absolute limit for one generation becomes the bear minimum for the next).
The Hegelian dialectic would suggest next that we merge with the robos and become transhuman - the end of our species.

...

Seriously? :curious:

Of for God sake doesn't this freak have anything better to do than stalk me around the internet begging for a sniff of my bum?

I am my ancestors tried & tested DNA brought forward as their progeny, a sovereign native of this planet. You prove to me that Pinocchio is the equal of Geppettos own son [if he had one].
I hope it does happen and then there would be a glitch and the bots take over the world.

That'll teach men/women.
Jesus, please come back down to earth
They can't get Als to work properly in video games and you expect these sex bots to be perfect.
Objectively no. It'd be a problem if it prevented real relationships. But I ask you: if people use solo sex toys and they also watch porn- how is it that different from a sex robot? In both situations you're gaining pleasure sexually without another person there (lacking a human connection).

The thing is, if the fact that all of us are the progeny of our ancestors held value then people wouldn't be such idiots nowadays. Most of us were created by idiots while machines are created by learned men.

As long as it's the one from Rocky 4, then definitely.

Oh, yea. Look at you, not being at all having the strangest of limits
Sorry but not sorry; I'm really really against this. I've read up on it. Done my research. Spoken to people who have one.

And I still simply can't.

I don't think I could build much of an emotional attachment to an AI unless I believed it could feel emotions.
