**** off out of this country if you're going to be so critical of us. Why don't you go to Syria and enjoy life there?

Whose us? UK full of foreigners. Such a peasant mentality.

No one wants to live in your council house.
Bee, you seem like a compassionate person, but if you feel Syrians take priority to you, why would you not understand how some on this thread feel about this? It's the EXACT same way you feel, just that some on here would rather take care of their own (i.e. British homeless people) over and above Syrians, just like you would place Syrians over Brits, as they are your people.

Now I would help both groups as we're all human, but I don't see why you're not agreeing with those who have a 'we take care of our own' attitude. It's the same attitude you have.
If even the middle eastern countries are refusing to take in so called Muslim 'refugees' and these 'refugees' are not happy in the beautiful, islamic, industrial brilliantly working economic machine that is turkey, that HAS to tell you something about their motives.

A good majority of them actually do stay in turkey, about 2.5 million, and a further 2 million across Lebanon and Jordan. the ones who are creating this fracas in trying to cross to Europe are not 'refugees' at that point. They are economic migrants, or worse, unsatisfied and demanding entitled opportunists.

People are free to live wherever they want.

Money talks ******** walks.

Yes agreed, they are. But they should integrate into the society of whichever country they move to.

This is not about money, more about respecting cultural/social values.

That is their personal choice. No need to integrate and just have a unified culture. I see Americanisation of the whole world when i travel. It's not great.

I know it is selfish and disgusting, but i would only allow a Christian Syrian into my home, having said that, i think we should only allow christian syrians as they are even being persecuted in .

In an ideal perfect world, we would have people of different cultures living together peacefully.

In the real world, cultural differences/ lack of respect causes fear, segregation, increased racial/religious tension (like what's happening now).

I think it's important to integrate (my opinion).

So you would support the "ghettoes" that form in the UK? Entire towns such as Hounslow and Bradford are overrun by a large population of non-English speaking migrants. When you walk down the street there, nobody speaks English!
Do you think this happens in Iraq? No!

Americanisation of the world is the promotion of commercialism, more consumerism and fast food etcetera.
Nobody is stopping this sort of cultural integration - but Americanisation of the world does not involve the movement of people en masse that share a different culture that is intolerant to our British values of democracy, integration and tolerance (for example of homosexuality).
How can you support the en masse "import" of people that come from regimes where free speech is banned, insulting Islam is punishable by death and homosexuality is illegal?

I disagree that fear, isolation or whatever is done through the powerful invested interests in the media, discrimination (creating ghettos), economic cycles.

Recession = everyones more racist
Couple of billionaires want more oil = more racist media
Discrimination = Ghettos which increase isolation

People are just people at the end of the day.

I seen a very radical christian post just above. I am not foolish enough to hate desperate people based upon a religion.

Their religion is their life, so why not go somewhere where everyone's religion is their life also? like, i don't know, turkey? the very islamic country you tried to escape?
Refugees, maybe. It depends on their reasons, of which there are so many...
It wouldn't be that useful to them to stay with me, as my location is basically in the middle of nowhere land!

Jesus, I hope you don't use such complex debating methods in your essays. Your teachers won't be able to handle your ingenuity.

Didn't Christians use to be the same way? Not sure why they should be persecuted for following their religion. Sounds silly. Jealous much.

So you ignore everything I say to comment on religion? Respond to the ghettoes and argument about Americanisation please.

Does not take a genius to come up with those points. I'm not here to educate by the way.

I shall continue my support for more help for migrants! We should take the lot.
