The irony is I would actually want nothing more than an intelligent partner with an incredible personality, and I think a woman with a great personality is much more valuable than just an attractive one.

However, I have had a lot of relationships, and in my experience, a lot of women exhibit the same generic personality traits when in relationships, eg.:

- preoocupation with materialism & image (mostly interested in shopping, nails, hair, makeup etc)
- insecurity (insecure in themselves, which I have seen mutate into insecurity in the strength relationship...the issue is they expect you, the man, to do all the work to fix it)
- jealousy (questioning every interaction you have with someone from the opposite sex that isn't her)
- irrationality (not willing to accept when they are wrong)
- unfairness (eg. say they believe in equality in relationships, but expect you to treat them like a queen)

But do you believe women with awesome personalities don't exist? I mean you have a pretty weak case if you're bringing up anecdotal evidence of a few girls you went out with, then generalising half the world's population based solely on that evidence. I'm sure you wouldn't take it well if a woman on this thread said, "of course I'd have a sex robot! Men are such chauvinist pigs who only care about sex, football and beer, and it would be amazing to not need to put up with that BS".

No, I do, and I have met a few, but there's two problems:

1) Women are valued by men princpially on their looks, rather than their personalities. So a lot of women devote more effort into developing their looks than they do on their personalities

2) Most of the women I have come across with great personalities have not been so attractive (because as they say in the movie American Psycho "the only girls with good personalities are ugly girls because they have to make up for the fact that they don't have good looks" ) .

Also, sex robots are a much bigger problem for women than they are for men. Men value women on their looks so if you can create a robot that looks and feels like Scarlett Johansson 10 out of 10 times I would pick that over a real women. Whereas women value men more on their personalities, and personality is intagible, so it's not as easy to manufacture as looks are.

You sound like you made up your girlfriend after watching Meangirls.
I can very easily imagine this being a big problem in the future. What will women do?
This reminds me of 'humans'. Nope, too weird.

So you started off by talking about how ****ty women are, and now you're essentially saying they're crappy because men are shallow. Sorry to burst your bubble, but men very much do value women on their personalities, especially when looking for a long term partner. Not only is there countless examples of this, but studies also back this up as well as sexual evolution and evolutionary psychology. Both sexes value looks sure, but personality definitely matters to a great extent, something you have also admitted.

Yes, I said most women have chitty personalities, and then explained what the primary reason was.

ofc men value women for their personalities....if you're going to get married & spend the rest of your life with someone, ofc whether you get along with them is more important whether they're a hot piece of ass. But:

a) Gnerally spekaing, women are valued far more on looks than personality, relative to men
b) Physical attraction is the first and primary criteria in actually selecting partners (whether it be wives or gfs), and then people decide to continue the relationship based on whether they meet their personality criteria

All the time!? Blimey. Someone just made a rod for her own back.. *if you'll pardon the pun* :mmm:

Aww, surely a creature as witty and debonair as le bear doesn't encounter many troubles a la friendzone?:mute:

Hit pause + rewind real quick!

All the time! Makes for a good workout routine :mmm: back exercise and all that..

Hahah, what if they're unable to detach his penis?
no why? I am a guy and relationships with women isn't just about the physical aspect. It is also nice and satisfying to have deep conversations, socialise together and generally have fun in each other's company. A doll would provide none of those things, so apart from a quick sexual release (which, in my opinion wouldn't even be satisfying) it wouldn't serve any other useful purpose.

The maine (sorry had to lol) trouble with sweeping generalisations is they ignore nuance and in this case are widely untrue for huge swathes of the population. Yes, when talking of a fling or one night stand, both sexes tend to gravitate more towards appearance as there will be no relationship. However, as you've conceded, when it comes to relationships we all very much value personality, regardless of gender.

You've said 'women are valued far more on their looks' by whom? You mentioned men earlier but omitted that noun here. Taken by itself yes, female objectification and the ideal standard in terms of body image is always pushed on women by the media. When it comes to societal pressures, women do tend to have it worse than men when it comes to looks. In spite of this, men do not as individuals care so much about a woman's looks that personality is as a factor trivial. Some shallow douchebags do, but for the most part men are content with dating conventionally average looking women with nice personalities, as are women with men.

Oh and btw, if women had to choose between a dildo and some undesirable members of the male populace, many would choose a dildo.
