I have everything crossed for you. Have you just found out?

Thank you.

Found out on Friday as tested early at 10 DPO to see if I could stop the 25mg OD of pred a day (!) So not even 5/40 yet. Have gone up to 2-3 on the clear blue digi this week & urinary HCG lines getting darker though - so hopefully more promising so far than the blighted ovum 2nd miscarriage where the lines were quite slow to darken & spontaneous miscarriage at 6/40 by dates. Not really feeling very pregnant but have had steroid-insomnia so tired anyway & it would likely suppress the nausea?

Of course now I'm anxious we're due an ectopic or PUL or worse in terms of later on complications... so trying to practise mindfullness techniques & not get ahead of myself - in the middle of a key career time when I need to be planning for the future!

I think you are due a healthy pregnancy you have had more bad luck than most.

:hugs:
Keeping everything crossed all goes well for you with this one!! You're definitely due a bit of luck for everything to be nice and normal and healthy.

Post-honeymoon Anonymous..?

Thank you all ladies!

In a time-goes-by-so-slowly update hopefully 5/40 at the start of this week & have incremented to 3+ on the clear blue digi and line strength matching control on the internet cheapies ahead of schedule so hopefully on track...

Feeling slightly hypnomanic on the steroids though! & I do think they're masking the normal early pregnancy nausea/fatigue. Just over a week till first early scan.

Indeed. Now is as good a time as any I figured. For the anon! Nothing else just yet.
Are they sure pregnancy is only 9 months long... feels like it's been at least that long already!! Just want to be nausea free for a day!

Now 26 weeks, midwife very happy with baby today - despite all my problems, baby is thriving which is a relief! Growth scan in a couple of weeks time - really looking forward to seeing him again

I was just wondering earlier how you were getting on  I remember it seemed like I was pregnant forever!
Hi Everyone!

I so very rarely come on this website nowadays..like once a month for 3-5minutes and just wanted to say all your babies are absolutely adorable and loving the updates.

Best of luck for the future,

:h:

But I still remember being surprised when our baby arrives & like 9 months wasn't long enough to mentally prepare!

So, I am now hopefully 7/40. Worst morning sickness of all 4 pregnancies I've had it in so far though - vomits AM + evenings and just relentless nausea in between. Not sure whether to ask for more antiemetics as I'm already on prednisolone which seems to be reserved for treatment resistant cases?! Booked in for a private thromboelastogram this week as now panicked I need heparin as well as everything else.

The scan last week gave a plausible reason for the more severe morning sickness - there were heartbeats. I am beyond freaking out at higher stakes now & high risk pregnancy/birth if we get that far. & we are absolutely not telling anyone so please continue to bleach your brains of this if you know me IRL.

I've found that even with prednisolone (which I'm still taking), I need regular ondansetron, promethazine and omeprazole/ranitidine as a combination to help control nausea, as good as the steroids are, they're not always enough on their own! (Really keeping fingers crossed for the heartbeats for you!)

I'm due to see high risk consultant again next week and probably won't escape without heparin from this appointment :frown: purely on the basis that my other health problems leave me relatively inactive - sofa/bed/wheelchair and even at work most of my time is spent sat down rather than on the move since I refuse to use the wheelchair at work!

I am sorry that you are feeling rotten. I continue to have everything crossed for you and hope that the scan goes well. Scan last week must have been a shock!

Going anon for your sake as much as mine... I have been waiting for updates, so pleased to hear it's a good (albeit somewhat additionally scary!) one! Lips are of course still sealed.

Off to a somewhat different clinic myself tomorrow - I'm now officially part of the 15% :frown:

Thank you. Maybe i'll ask for something else then - although if I could stay in bed & eat a cracker every 30 minutes it might be survivable. Realistic with work/toddler/solo parent during the week though?! Forsee my finish date going a bit further back...

Hope all goes well with high risk consultant. Am amused that obviously normal people don't want heparin & I'm desperate for it! I've heard it can be easier if someone else injects you - is that an option? When are you going on Mat Leave?

Thank you... actually - it wasn't for me - I suspected something statistically unusual again & had been seeing absurd good omens everywhere like a double rainbow/conkers etc. (how wooo  ) - although was more pessimistically thinking molar (!) as the lines were getting quite a bit darker quickly & I'm a pro at interpreting them now!

I'm really sorry to hear that. Leap of faith as to which Anon you are - time is still on your side & I love a good therapeutic-benefits-of-the-fertility-treatment-waiting-list baby story for my patients & one of my oldest friends has actually just had one.

If you want to talk about it we can take it to Facebook? I've developed quite the specialist interest in fertility/miscarriage stuff over the last few years in & out of work. Any inkling from the baseline investigations what you might be up again? Some things are quite straightforward to fix..?

I'm quite PCOS-y but luckily seem to ovulate regularly (although have the thrombotic/insulin resistance/increased miscarriage/gestational diabetes worries instead) - I've found VLCDs or 5:2 has worked quite well in the past when I've needed motivational rapid results to get my BMI back in check. At the moment I'm on a first trimester mission to get it back under 30 (20kg gain in the last crappy year we've had  ) & reduce another risk category but am finding really strict calorie in/out counting on an app quite handy.
Also I'm now totally a convert of increasing the dose of folic acid (esp when BMI higher than optimal) & Vitamin D at more of a usual maintenance dose (2,000 units) as I've never had 2 corpus luteums before.

Inducing ovulation if it's not happening often seems relatively straightforward.

Any impact ongoing of your hubbie's PMH on sperm analysis?

Been wondering how you are but didn't want to pry. Not uncommon to need other things hun. Am around if you need a chat. Everything crossed for you.

Again, happy to talk on facebook or a coffee if you want a friendly ear.

Nothing exciting to report here. Starting to get stressed about life planning and realising that finances are a limiting factor. Also have some pretty unwell family members making me realise how fragile things are. Meh.

Yep, you guessed right. I managed to get investigated early-ish thanks to knowing how to play the system, so know I have PCOS - hormone profile not totally conclusive, though it was done on a random day as my cycle is so unpredictable, but US + cycle irregularities + weight is enough to be diagnostic. We haven't actually been told H's latest semen analysis results, he was "low end of normal range" last year when we got one done privately to help us decide whether to continue to pay for ongoing sperm banking, so we'll hopefully find that out tomorrow and see if it's good enough for Clomid to be an option. I'm expecting to be told to go away and come back with a BMI <30 though...

I'm well aware that this chat doesn't really belong in this society, so I'll update you tomorrow over FB!

Hubby would probably be willing but I've found in the past that I can manage my needle phobia better if I'm the one in charge of the needle (I do my own bloods where I can rather than let someone else take them). Might beg for some Ametop/EMLA to start with to get me used to it though

Have the joy of GTT coming up before long as well after 20 weeks on steroids + family history of GD, keeping fingers crossed I avoid any more complications though!

Mat leave from mid dec (with 2 weeks annual leave beforehand) so not too long left now (no night shifts but hoping to continue my supernumerary on calls until I finish)

Don't feel that you can't post this sort of thing in here is you want to! (but then don't feel pressured too if you don't feel comfortable). Hope everything went ok today, I have been thinking of you.
