Which are the hardest Maths modules?

Hey,

I am an A2 Maths student and I am planning on resitting C1 and M1 as well with C3 C4 D1 and FP1 S1 D2.

From your experience, which would you say are the easiest to hardest?

I found C2 easier than C1 and C1 easier than M1.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Hari

Depends on how much you hate trig. I found C4 easier than C3 because it contained less trig, but most people struggle on the integration in C4.

For me (hardest to easiest): M1, C3, C4, FP1, S1, C1, D1, idk about D2

Keep in mind 95% of people will disagree with me putting M1 ahead of C3 & 4, I just find mechanics incomprehensible

Alright thanks, I hate trig too.

I think M1 is the hardest too but where do you think C2 will come?

Probably between S1 and C1, I've forgotten half the content tho so you may be right about it being easier than C1. From what I remember C1 papers were usually harder than C2 papers purely because the contents easier so they throw some abstract questions in

I've only done As and here's how it is for me so far (easiest to hardest) C1 C2 ...M1 (probably the hardest) . I got 80 and 95 UMS respectively and 40 on M1.

In my experience, excluding decision: C1 < S1 < C2 = M1 = FP1 < C3 < C4

I genuinely have no idea what that chart is trying to show.

relative difficulties between modules
M5 is the hardest. No competition.

OK but you have modules stacked up for some reason. So you think S3 is by far the easiest module because it's one "unit"?

Completely agree with this chart for the modules I've done apart from C4 which I don't think is such a step up from C3.

the heights are measured from the bottom
C1 is easiest with a relative jump of 3 units from GCSE (floor)
C2 is one step higher than C2
C2 and FP1 are at the same level
etc

Different individuals feel differently
for instance if this is your opinion then your integration maybe was superior to that of the average student that sits C4.
I do not agree with this chart completely but this is me.
the chart is based on the opinions of many students.

I think it's more that I thought the jump from AS core maths to A2 core maths was the big step so the step from C3 to C4 didn't feel that huge in comparison, maybe that's clouding my view.

And presumably the bars are based on your subjective opinion?
I do not agree with the chart posted above either, and have done all the modules.

- M2 is not noticeably more difficult than M1 (In fact probably easier given you're going from Mechanics to more rather than nothing to Mechanics)
- S2 is much easier than S1 and one of the easiest modules overall; no way is at as hard as C3
- S4 is easier than S3
- M4 and FP3 are around the same; certainly M4 is nowhere near M5 which is head and shoulders above it in terms of difficulty and required understand

Out of the ones you've doing / have done (C1-4, FP1, M1, D1, S1, D2) I'm not sure where D2 places as I have not done it.

C1 < D1 < FP1 tied with S1 < C3 < C2 < M1 < C4 (in my opinion).
