Not in the sense of what to literally do to have sex, I'm sure I can figure that out. But I have no idea what to do to actually find someone to have sex with. I'm 17. I'm not at all unattractive, I'm tall and probably my only flaw is mild acne. I'm boasting in that sense but I'm not afraid to admit that I have really **** social skills, only one friend in person. I'm the epitome of a socially awkward nerd. I've been getting into biking to try and improve my fitness and to have something interesting to say that's not related to computers or games or whatever. I haven't even kissed a girl. In the last few years things have just gradually gotten worse. I have less friends than last year and last year I had less friends than the year before.
No idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm confident, make an effort to talk to people, people in my social circle seem to like me but the relationships never escalate beyond being acquaintances, simply talking during class or whatever. I'm in a small college by the way.
In summary, I need to lose my virginity and I'm not phased about how it's done. I don't care about it being a pleasant experience or something to look back in when I'm 50 fondly, or whatever else. How can I approach this? Developing a relationship with a girl hasn't worked despite my efforts. What can I do? Is a prostitute out of the question?

You really don't need to be rushing into this - while society seems to suggest that literally everyone loses their virginity ages 15 or 16, it really isn't the case. I'm 17 years old, male, and neither myself nor many of my friends have had sex, and a lot of us haven't had a relationship. That's normal, seriously.
If you find the right person, great. Otherwise, don't rush, you'll find someone eventually, and you'll be glad you waited.

you dont need to lose your virginity hun, alot of 17 yr olds havent lost it
im 17 too and i can kind of relate to what you are saying to some extent. if you struggle with making friends at least your that confident guy that can strike up a conversation with people

As Paul said, try and find a girlfriend first. You will generally find you have more sex after you stop trying to get laid. You have to meet a girl first. I suggest having a hobby. Finding groups or clubs that are based round this hobby. Talk to the people and make friends. Enjoy yourself. This way you can meet a girl with the same interests as you. If you both have a spark then go on dates. Sex will happen naturally when you are both ready, don't ruin it by trying to get your leg over before she is ready.
