Just got my first offer

I just got my first offer from Leeds Beckett for psychology! I wasn't expecting it at all as I only sent off my application yesterday and I never even received an acknowledgement email from them

Congrats! Where else have you applied?

It says on the Leeds Beckett website that you need 300 tariff points, which would be BBB... maybe it has changed recently?

Ah, no worries, can happen to anyone! :P

Nice choices! I've got friends applying to some of those. Some of them are actually applying for the same course as you!

And yes, sent my application off the Monday before last.

I hope your others don't take ages now! I've applied to UEA, Sussex, Royal Holloway and Southampton, but it's for English (with Creative Writing at UEA) which is quite competitive, so it'll probably take a while :/ I sent mine on the 12th Oct.
Congrats

I think psychology is quite competitive as well, so you may not have to wait too long!

I'm applying for medicine so won't get any offers for a bit yet. :/ I'm applying for Cambridge (it's a long shot but I may as well, it's only one of five!), Hull-York Medical School, King's College London, Newcastle (but on the Durham campus). And then York for biomedical sciences.

Universities like Hull, York and Nottingham are kind of close by to my local area. So they are pretty popular with people from my area. Same with Sheffield. Since most people like to be in a 3hr radius from home.

Any ideas for a career after university?

ah I wouldn't be able to cope, i'm too impatient :s-smilie: do you have to do interviews as well? Well it's always good to have a 'top' choice!
I live in London and wanted to experience somewhere different, but I feel like i'm going to be a bit of an outsider at whichever uni I go to as they're all up north and like you said, a lot of people that apply there are from there as well.

Well most likely something in psychology but I have no idea yet what area I would like to take on, maybe clinical or occupational. How about you?

Yeah, have to have interviews before I get an offer. :/

I don't think you'll be the only person not from up north. I live in kind of midlands area so most people here are looking both up north and down south. Also, I am sure many people from down south feel the same way as you. Plus, it's not like we speak a different language! :P

Sounds good, would be an interesting career. I'd like to be a doctor, not sure what specialism yet though. Need more insight before I decide.
