Raped, who can I talk to?

I need to talk to a counselor, I need help and support. But I have tried contacting every rape crisis centre, every helpline, everything, and they all refused to talk to me because I am male, they only help women. I can't get in touch with a charity that helps male rape survivors because the government has cut all spending on support for male rape survivors. Who the **** do I talk to?? I am a mess, I can't sleep can't eat can't work, it is killing me inside.

I have been trying to talk to just a normal cousnelor but I have been on their waiting list for 10 months and nothing is happening

Have you tried mankind, survivors uk? There are a few which provide support. I'm sorry you had to go through that experience, male or female rape is rape and no one should be turned away from support.

Are you in university? Can you get the administrator for some urgent help?

yeah I've tried them but they are virtually dead as they have no money so they can't help. :frown:
Have you been to the police ? They can help you by refering you to some services. Btw was it guy/guy rape or girl/guy ?

no I am in full time employment. I dont know how I can speed up my place on the waiting list for the regular counsellor even if they are not specialised in this type of support. I just need someone to talk to, I cant tell my friends as I feel too ashamed and embarassed

Don't bother with the counsellor crap. Go straight to the police.

Actually ****ing shocked at the lack of help for men and the amount of "women and girls only" centres.
They only help females? That's disgusting. I never knew this. I'm sorry that you had to go through that OP, normally I would say contact Rape crisis but I am actually shocked at this. I hope someone can offer you some good help.

Sorry to butt in here with something irrelevant, but under UK law only men are capable of committing rape. Nevertheless, women can still be liable for sexual assault.

From my quick google, I found 3 centres that catered for men and boys, all the rest Woman and girls- so youre looking at 90% female centric.

He is just stating what the law is (and how outdated and in need to change it is). Women still can not be prosecuted for rape, only sexual assault.

Whilst simultaneously belittling and invalidating the views and emotions of the OP.
Also, no he wasn't he was trying to be funny. Anyway lets not turn this into anything other than what it is - a thread to help a man who has been raped and needs advice.
