The different types of TSR users - Which one are you ?

I think I'm most like "The Typical User", but depending on my mood, I can sometimes act like "The good citizen" or "The Defeatist".

I really think that I would fit into a different category, though. "The tourist", because I'm always commenting on how things would be in America and wondering if they're the same over there.

What uni do you go to?
Needs a category for people like me (there are a few of us about) who go round actively looking for the comedy. Testing out our funny bone by coming up with a topical joke wherever we see the opportunity or getting involved in the witty banter. My general approach to life tbh

Well, I just graduated from a community college here in the US with an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, and I was going to go to University of Texas at Dallas. But they passed that campus carry thing here, and now I want to go out of state. I'm not going anywhere right now.

It's going to be so expensive out of state that it wouldn't be much more expensive to go to Europe or Canada. But British schools have higher standards, for instance expecting American applicants to have taken several AP classes in high school which I didn't do. While I can take SATs now, it's too late for me to take AP classes.

So I've pretty much given up on the idea of going to the UK in person, but this site is addictive.

I'm pretty sure everyone can relate to this thread

1.) The Observer :colonhash:
The type of person who registers and reads every single thread but rarely ever posts.

9.) The Flirt :date:
This person has a portable radar that detects all female posters. He then proceeds to flirt with every single one of them. No one knows whether he is actually looking for love or not - RobML

10.) The Typical User :bebored:
The regular TSR user, logs on to check their notifications, scrolls through a few threads in sub forums of interest, occasionally posts, logs out.

I'm somewhere between the observer and the typical user - but only cause I don't have time to post. I can assure you @RobML isn't looking for 'love' - wanted snaps of them titties :slap:

HA I am, too, addicted to this site! But I'm also here to get some insight about what it's like to attend uni in the UK since I'll spending a year studying abroad in London

There should be an option for "The Korean" Uploads many threads of random lines of symbols and letters with a hidden casino website link.

A mix of 5, 8 and 10.
Although I doubt you'll get responses from 7s, as they probably already found the answer they sought and logged out for good :awesome:.

I was wondering why no one voted "the throw away" then I realised they won't be coming back any time soon hahaha

Is it possible to be a little bit of everything :innocent:

Exactly. At times I am all or none of them.

I feel pressure to conform to a stereotype in this thread. As a royal user, I shall now summon a Mod to put OP in his place for putting that on me.

I'm not sure what the latter means

A more realistic list.

The Online Feminist
This person creates an account online with the only intention of attention seeking by posting inflammatory feminist threads. Every single thing relates to feminism - if someone got a 2:1 at university then its obviously because of them being marginalised and not having male privilege.

The Deluded Academic
This person is about 14-17 years old and is adamant that they are going to Cambridge or Oxford. Some of them do but the majority of them wake up to the real world and actually end up at another institution. At this point they then post all over TSR about how great this new institution is and how its better than Oxford of Cambridge, even though deep down they're insecure and gutted.

The Teen Know It All
This person is usually about 14-18 years old, has lived off the bank of mum and dad or state handouts, and yet seems to know absolutely everything about life and how it works, even with very limited experience. They appear to be overly reliant on the Internet for information and lack true real world experience. This is probably a symptom of not getting out enough and lacking the capacity to think for themselves.

The Radical
This person picks a topic, picks a side and their only goal is to completely push that agenda in whatever way they can. It doesn't matter if its religion, politics or any other issue. They will continue to push it and push it. Its often an extreme opinion that they'll continue peddling just to entice people in and get a reaction. In most cases this person doesn't even believe the line of argument that they're taking and are only doing it for the thrill.

The Statistician
This person won't believe anything unless you provide a swarm of academic sources, stats and arguments to back up your claim. Even then they will not accept your point of view because lets face it, your stats are nowhere near as correct or perfect as theirs. Do not even try to pass off a newspaper as a source or claim to have experienced in real life around this person because you will fall victim to a plethora of thread pages of complete nonsense.

To be continued.........
If I was a mod, I would add much of these to the initial poll !
