Using the 240 is correct:

240 = 20/(3f) + time at constant vel + 20/f

then get an expression in terms of f.

Now find the area under the graph - two trapezia plus a rectangle (using the values in terms of f)

Now we add the three areas to get 4000 and you should be able to get f.

Ohhhhhhhh so you get 240 from the others oh I see
So you rearrange and/or collect and get 40t = 1600
so t = 40.

f = 20/3t therefore it is 20/120 which is 1/6ms^-2.

I see, I see I see.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH :smile:

Hello, so my teacher assigned me to do the first 30 questions of the review exercise and funnily enough Q30 is the one question I just don't understand. I've looked at physicsandmathstutor.com and I still don't understand. The discs don't work on W10 and my friend who did them before the end of term on Friday asked the teacher but still doesn't fully understand the question.

Thanks.

It's one of the suggestions in the maths forum :smile:

It's much better for your learning to work it out from hints - which is what you did :smile:

Read the rules on the maths forum - you don't help people but posting a full method.
