I usually work evenings, an I often suffer from the opposite side of the till.

@10:00 am
Customer: "Thanks, bye!"

Ive walked into a shop, bought a whole load of stuff, and when I was handed my change I just walked off and left all of the shopping at the checkout -.-

When i worked at ASDA, Id have to often shout after customers that did this.
