Not enough information. Which subject and which exam board?

(although I doubt there is -- exam boards don't normally release their mark schemes publicly until quite a few months after the exam, although your teacher might be able to access it)

Oh I didn't realize that I didn't give out the details haha! Sorry about that and I am doing Edexcel GCSE Maths.

Is it mathematics A or mathematics B? The June 2015 mark schemes seem to be available although I haven't looked because I don't know which of the two you're looking for: http://qualifications.pearson.com/en/support/support-topics/exams/past-papers.html.

It's Mathematics A paper 2 Calculator and it is the Foundation tier.

I tried to access it but apparently the most recent papers can only be accessed by teachers and require a username and password (which your teacher probably has) to access. This includes the June 2015 exam series as well.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. :dontknow: I suggest you email your teacher and ask him/her if they can send it to you. You can still access older papers by visiting the link in my previous reply.

These are my answers from the Edexcel June 2015 Foundation Calculator Paper 2 as I sat this exam this year. Are you sitting the November exam in a couple of days, if so best of luck.

1) a) 3.8 x 4.5 = 17.1 (1 mark)
b) square root of 1.69 = 1.3 ( 1 mark)
c) 3.2 squared = 10.24 (1 mark)

2) a) Name of the polygon (6 sides) is a hexagon (1 mark)
b) How many side has an octagon? 8 (1 mark)

3) Youth club quiz night
17 teams of 4 people = 68
plus 3 organizers 68 + 3 = 71 chairs altogether (2 marks)

4) Survey about types of pets ... I'd draw a bar chart ... fully labelled, equal sized bars, space in between each bar (3 marks)

5) a) e + e + e - e + 3e = 5e (1 mark)
b) 7 x g x h = 7gh (1 mark)
c) 3a + d - 2a + 5d .... group the a's and the d's ... which gives a + 6d (2 marks)

6) 16 students on the bus, 13 get off, 4 get on ...16 - 13 + 4 = 7
then 5 get off, 7 get on ... 7 - 5 + 7 = 9 (3 marks)

7) triangle, angles given are 35 and 50
a) (i) work out missing angle .... 180 - 35 - 50 = 95
(ii) reason is angles in triangle add up to 180 degrees (2 marks)

b) then make accurate drawing of a triangle (3 marks)

8) a) Sam goes to a meeting which starts at 2pm, she gets there at 1 45pm how long does she wait ? 15 minutes ( 2 marks)

b) meeting starts 10 minutes late and lasts 55 minutes
so starts at 2 10 pm add 55 minutes .... answer 3 05 pm (2 marks)

c) needs get to 4pm meeting, it'll take 75 minutes, can she make it ?
3 05 pm + 75 minutes ... 4 20 pm so no she can't (2 marks)

9) a) 1/8 as a percentage = 12.5% (1 mark)
b) 5/6 of 600 = 5 / 6 * 600 = 500 (2 marks)

10) 105 cars in car park, 68 teachers, 15 students
a) probability car owned by teacher .... 68/105 (1 mark)
b) how many not owned by teacher or student ... 105 - 68 - 15 = 22 (2 marks)
c) what percentage owned by students to 1 dp
15 / 105 * 100 = 14.28571429 = 14.3 to 1 dp (2 marks)

11) bar chart question about museum visitors
a) 300 adults visited in March
b) Total number of adults = 2050 Total number of children = 2150
so the difference is 2150 - 2050 = 100 (3 marks)

12) Electricity bill
units used 2968 - 2675 = 293 cost is 293 * 18p = 5274 pence = £52.74 (4 marks)

13) a) (i) 3 7 11 15 next term would be 19
(ii) why ....adding 4 each time (2 marks)

b) work out 11th term ... keep adding 4 answer 43 (1 mark)

c) is 79 in the sequence ? yes it is ... nth term is 4n-1 .... 4 x 20 - 1 = 79 (1 mark)

14) list of numbers .... in order
12 12 12 12 13 15 15 15 16 17 17 18

a) mode is 12 (1 mark)
b) range is 18 - 12 = 6 (2 marks)
c) median is 15 (2 marks)
d) mean is 174 / 12 = 14.5 (2 marks)

15) wants to cycle 70km each week ... convert all distances to metres then add

18.2 km = 18200m
14 km 250m = 14250m
20.5km = 20500m
12050m

total in metres = 65000m which is 65 km so no he doesn't cycle 70km (4 marks)

16) Survey of car colours ... suggest tally chart
Colour of car Tally Frequency (3 marks)

17) 6 buttons in a pack, 15 buttons in a box
buys d packets of buttons and f boxes of buttons ....
so formula for T in terms of d and f .... T = 6d + 15f (3 marks)

18) list of numbers 1 2 4 5 8 9 12 15 16

a) prime number .... 2 or 5 (1 mark)
b) write down 3 squares that add to make 21 ... 16 + 4 + 1 = 21 (2 marks)

19) a) solve 8f + 19 = 15
so 8f = 15 - 19 so 8f = -4 so f = -4/8 = -1/2 or - 0.5 (2 marks)

b) solve 2c + 5 = c + 8
so 2c - c = 8 - 5 so c = 3 (2 marks)

20) paid £2000 per month, saves 6% each month, how long to save £480 ?
6% of 2000 = £120 so £480 / /£120 = 4 months (3 marks)

21) 4.5 kg oranges + 3kg of apples cost £3.87
2.5 kg oranges cost £1.40. How much does 1kg of apples cost ?

so if 2.5 kg of oranges cost £1.40, 1 kg cost £1.40 / 2.5 = £0.56
so 4.5 kg cost £0.56 x 4.5 which is £2.52

if 4.5 kg oranges + 3kg of apples cost £3.87 then 3 kg of apples costs
£3.87 - £2.52 = £1.35
so if 3kg of apples cost £1.35 1 kg cost £1.35 / 3 = £0.45
asks for answer is pence so answer is 45 pence (4 marks)

22) There's a table with chocolates
a) probability dark choc caramel .... 1/30 (1 mark)
b) probability of white chocolate .... 9/30 = 3/10 (2 marks)
c) dark choc is 0.35 milk choc is 0.17 so missing prob is 1 - 0.35 - 0.17 = 0.48 (2 marks)

23) Redlands sends x students, St Sams sends twice as many, Francis send 7 less than Redlands. Each students pays £15, total paid is £1155.

So Redland sends x, St Sams sends 2x and Francis sends x - 7
so total number of students is x + 2x + x - 7 = 4x- 7

total paid is 15 ( 4x - 7) = 60x - 105

This total = £1155 ..... so 60x - 105 = 1155 .... so 60x = 1155 + 105
so 60x = 1260 ... so x = 1260 / 60 = 21

so Redlands sends 21 students St Sams sends 42 and Francis send 14

24) loci question ... should have a straight line across from left to right, circle in bottom right had corner ... shaded in bit in bottom right ( 3 marks)

25) birthday cake ... 7 inch diameter .... 1 inch = 2.54 cm ... ribbon sold in 50cm length

so circumference of cake = pi x 7 = 21.99114858 inches
convert this to cm by multiiplying by 2.54 ... 21.99114858 x 2.54 = 55.85751738 cm
so no, 1 length of ribbon isn't long enough (4 marks)

26) rectangle ...length 30cm, width 20cm PLUS 2 diagonals

so use Pythag to calculate the length of the diagonals
20 squared + 30 squared = 1300 which you then need square root

so 1 diagonal = 36.05551275cm ...

so 2 diagonal, plus 2 widths, plus 2 lengths

(2 x 36.05551275) + (2 x 30) + (2 x 20) = 172.1110255 cm

asks to round to 1 decimal place so answer is 172.1 cm (4 marks)
