well if you have a daughter, you're (the speaker/the OP I presume) the mother...

so plug "myself" into the riddle.

So say, If Teresa's daughter is myself."

...then you're Teresa's daughter. Where did you get father?

Okay so Teresa has a baby lets call her Angel(This is Teresa's daughter). Okay so Angel has a baby with Bob(This is Angels daughter)

Bob says Teresa's daughter(Angel) is my daughters mother(Angel is the mother to their daughter)-so what am I to Teresa, well he is her son-in-law.

GET IT?!

It actually works that way. Also I just understood why daughter is the answer! But it works this way as well.

There is no opinion. All riddles have an answer. The answer is daughter. If the riddle specified its sex, then ok. So then you're thinking

Bob is saying "my daughter's mother" is Bob's wife.

So Teresa's daughter...is Bob's wife.

But that makes it too simple. You have to assume that the speaker is entangled in the question. So when you figure it out you go "wow that was dumb." "Son in law" is too realistic. Idk.
