Recruitment agency Scam (TC World, Gray industries etc)

Just want to let you know that the recuitment agencies scam that is happening in Manchester. Two recent experiences which includes TC World and Gray Industry.

Misleading and a fraud. They advertise for jobs that don't exist to make money out of you.

They call you got a 2 min interview but say it will last for 45 mins. No proper process. They invite back again and then send you on your travels. No promise of pay but they expect you to pay for your training and expenses. It is unclear what the job is and there is a clear fraud going on. This just be reported to the police.

Yeah it's true. Manchester based. Check out other reviews on Google.

They take your CV then you get a lady call who sounds interested in you. Invites you fit interview. Man interview you that last two mins.

He is unclear with what the job is and tells you, you can earn between 2-300 a week with a progressive salary to 1000k. Then invited you to another interview. I felt he was doggy and I didn't know what to expect but I felt uncomfortable with the whole process but when you desperate for a job you are vulnerable. This was with gray industry recuitment agency.

TC world is another scam operated by the same company who also sounded very similar. Sale, marketing and HR jobs were advised on reed uk and other websites to catch your attention.

Please be aware they are wasting your time, money for travelling, giving you false hope and taking your information.

What kind of jobs were you going after? You have to be realistic as well ie: in some jobs, you're just not going to make £1000/week

Definitely also stay away from recruitment agencies who want to charge YOU instead of their client. It never works like that. Ever.

Marketing, I can sorta see why that'd be 100% commission based, and you certainly COULD make x, but that's with any thing though.

HR, I'd be interested to see how you go from x to y in such a short space of time. BTW, OP I got my job from a recruitment agency, but it's highly specialised so..

BTW I have heard this:

""We've managed to get you a higher rate than you were asking for?""

When contracting, I was originally "only" meant to be getting £100/day. I ended up getting £120/day

Sorry, the only ones I used were specialised ones, so if you're in to networking (as in computer networking), then I could give you some help. I mean they pay £250 or so for every referral they get any way, and I'd certainly LIKE that money, but tbh the recruitment agencies I used probably won't help any one outside of a very specific field.

I applied to gray industries months ago never heard back from them so glad about that!

However, I receive 'job alerts' from several 'Companies' that have fishy looking websites which I put straight in my junk folder and their websites all say they are based in manchester but when I google map the address they all come up with the same bordered up corner shop so I'd definitely be wary of unsolicited emails and unknown companies. It just makes me uneasy having my details on my CV as it is posted on a fair few well known job sites.

update: looked up gray industries on companies house and it shows the company was dissolved in 2013 so I would definitely avoid them.

I have experienced this exact thing with gray industries! Applied for a job with them last year after finishing uni, some marketing role. Went to Manchester for an interview which lasted around 5-10 minutes maximum, and was invited back the next day for a second interview which was an absolute shambles. Was left waiting in the reception area for a good 30 minutes, and then told I would have to pay for another train ticket (as well as the one I had purchased to get to Manchester) to go on some sort of training day, in which I was left sitting on a bench all day 'observing' their 'staff' try and flog cheap makeup to passers by. This lasted around 6 hours. The whole experience did not feel right. Only on the train back to Manchester was I told that it was purely commission based and that they expected you to work 12 hour days. At this point I made my excuses to leave and went home. I feel as if they are taking advantage of young people looking for an exciting job with their misleading job ads. Needs to be stopped!

What was your experience with them? I had the exact same experience and was absolutely fuming!
I've also had an interview at Gray Industries, another company which is dodgy as well is Fortitude Plethora based in Manchester Deansgate. Both of these companies are under Credico. Please see this article which gives way more info on these companies. https://thedevilcorp.wordpress.com

Hey

so my sister was called for an interview for this Gray Industries, and my parents did some digging, that's how we saw this post. Their website is a bit of a joke and all their twitter is concerned with is making money. My sister has decided to decline the interview offer as things didn't seem to add up, even though the woman on the phone did sound very convincing! Thanks guys!
