You're entitled to a loan for tuition fees which isn't based on household income. (non-means tested) Students starting in September 2016 are entitled to a maintenance loan only. Part of this loan is based on household income. (means tested) If you're from a household on a low income, (the rules vary by uni) you may entitled to extra help from your uni.
