this was never my thread (I did not create it)

Somebody else created it and said in the first post
"Hi"
to which I replied
"hello"
He vanished, deleted his post somehow, (I do not even know how to do that), and now I appear as the nutter who created this...

there is no hint...

I put this question up because of the problem that arose in this thread, so I picked a random question I was working on and posted it

This is part of a general method for solving cubics, based on
Knocking the x squared term
check discriminant

then use either

the cosine triple angle,
the cosh triple angle
or the sinh triple angle
