What's this old kids show?

Was having a conversation with my sister about old shows we used to watch when we were kids, and I remembered this show that I used to love as a toddler. From what I can remember it consisted of a woman (quite pretty, from what I remember, but then I was probably 5) dressed in old-timey clothes sitting on a huge armchair reading stories from a book to some kids outside. It was a pretty trippy show from what I remember, especially the dialogue, which is probably why I loved it so much. Anyone got an idea what it is?

THANK YOU. I had the slightest inkling it was part of Teletubbies but I brushed it off for some reason, should have just gone with my instinct.

****, this is even trippier than I remember. This must have been CBeebies' attempt to introduce kids to mental health issues. :laugh:

Come to think of it, Teletubbies as a whole is weirder than I remember it being; four brightly-coloured alien beings that spend their entire lives in a green utopia and share a symbiotic relationship with a windmill. :laugh:
